brad has somewhat of a point it might be ego influenced but still, that mindset completely throws meritocracy to the wind and that’s really what’s wrong w the world. moving to a better/higher position is all abt making yourself into the most “sellable” and profitable package.

I been a boxer for 10 yers as amateur and pro. has have over 80 fight. boxing is not about how popular you are is about how god you are at the craft. the charm of boxing is coming from noting and fight you way up. mike is absolutely right for a boxer standpoint

You can’t just jump into top motorsports without a proven track record. You have to work your way up. Should be the same for any sport. Even if you’ve been active in the sport but not professionally. A drag racer can’t just jump into social media without work, an electrician can’t become a plumber without extra work.
Also if no one paid taxes then nothing would be funded, you gonna go repair roads? No one wants to pay them, but no one would wanna live in the mess society would be without it.

Jake only looks good because of his opponent. He has good training and has taken instruction well but any pro fighter would just punch him hard once and the entire fight would change. Doesn't have to be a knockout punch just a solid punch from a professional to the side or even arms its a different level of power.

yea but it's not all about pride either it's like Mike said. boxing fans love boxing, they don't just watch because they wanna see 2 dudes fight. they love the techniques and tactics and skills and shit. like to be at the top of a sport as an athlete that means you're the best at that sport not that you're a noob who got famous on vine. it's a prestige thing and it has to be, if you didn't get respect for being world champion, if they gave that belt to anyone then it wouldn't mean shit and the sport would die. because you compete to get to the top, these dudes didn't compete they just jumped in at the top. that's the thing. it's not about money, obviously more views=more money.. but it's about being at the top of the sport or not.
