Thank You Kevin Smith | Clerks 3 | Spoiler Review

Clerks III wasn't coming from the heart, it was coming from the sphincter. I thought Clerks III was a depressing reminder that you should be watching the far superior Clerks or even Clerks II instead. It's not a perfect send off to these characters. It's an insult to these characters. Everything in it is inconsequential. Randal's movie in the movie goes nowhere. Dante's storyline is interesting but completely contradictory. The only one that gets a "happy ending" is the newly converted Satanist. I guess the message of the movie is simply "sell out, kids. It's the only way to obtain true happiness." If the movie is about seizing the day, it fails as Randal's movie is a pointless endeavor of a plot thread that goes nowhere. If the movie is about learning to appreciate what you have in life, it fails as Dante chooses death over life despite Becky's insistence he live on to fight another day.

I'm absolutely gobsmacked that anyone could think this is a good ending to Clerks. It's thoroughly depressing and renders Clerks II completely mute and pointless. All I took from this is that Kevin Smith has always hated Dante. He views Dante as the manifestation of his own self hate. He really wants to be Randal. But my question is why would anyone want to be Randal? The Randal of Clerks III is a complete selfish asshole who takes everything around him for granted! Why would you want to be that guy in your 50's?

Life time Viewaskew fan. Also from Jersey. This thing was pretty wonderful. People who didn’t love it never would have. This is for his audience. A big enough group to justify the budget and thats all he needs. Loved ur review man.

Clerks 3 is possibly the greatest film of all time and this review was brilliant I got goosebumps then tear when you talk about the scene damn this movie was amazing and wrecked me emotionally for days, something I would never expect from clerks 3 Jeffs kiss

Was torn the first time but have watched it 4 times more and I agree. Do I agree with the route he took no. But did he do it amazing yes

I loved the movie, it's a movie for us. Those who don't understand it never will and that's okay. Kevin could have gone for something more general trying to convince more people but in doing so he probably would have lost us. But he didn't care about those who don't understand it, he cared about those who do and that makes this movie how wonderful it is.
