Meet Lindsay MacMillan: From Goldman Sachs to Author

The Kalamazoo Area Women's Club is pleased to introduce author Lindsay MacMillan for a special author presentation at Portage District Library. MacMillan's poignant debut novel, The Heart of the Deal, was published in June. The book follows Wall Street banker Rae as she navigates the professional and romantic highs and lows of her late twenties. MacMillan left her position as vice president of Goldman Sachs to pursue writing. She will share stories from her journey and excerpts from the novel. Light refreshments will be served and an author signing will follow the event.

Author Bio: Lindsay MacMillan is an author, TEDx speaker, and former VP at Goldman Sachs. After graduating magna cum laude from Dartmouth College, she worked at Goldman Sachs for six years in both New York and London, rising up to become a vice president. While working in finance, she carved out early mornings and weekends to pursue her dream of being a novelist. After signing two book deals, she took the leap to write full-time and bring her business background into the arts as an “authorpreneur." Her debut novel, The Heart of the Deal, is a contemporary love story published June 2022, and her second book is forthcoming in 2023. Strong, relatable women who are re-defining success in their careers and relationships are at the center of her stories. She delivered a popular TEDx talk called “Love is Not a Business Deal,” drawing on her experiences as a Wall Street investor and an author. Lindsay lives in her hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
