Walk through the fire, fly through the smoke. See my enemy at the end of De rope.
ОтветитьSnowfall brought me here
ОтветитьI cant seem to locate a Dr John piece that has the line "..everybody's the same, same, same, same, same, same. same.."
ОтветитьHaven't heard this in several decades!
ОтветитьPerfect album to play on Halloween. I love the 3D sound of the backup singer ladies.
ОтветитьAmerican Gods brought me here

ОтветитьA great and incrediibly unusual song that began a career that saw Dr. John become the greatest pianist I ever heard - Blues, Boogie Woogie, Jazz, Rock, and that great New Orleans sound. They loved him in his home town of N.O. What a send off they gave him at his funeral. RIP Mac
ОтветитьNo Paul Weller, is he?
Ответить1968 had Dr.John Jimi Hendrix Santana you had to be there Magic in the air for real
ОтветитьGreat stuff...even when done by Humble Pie.

ОтветитьWent on a Riverboat trip one night in NOLa...Rush week 1970. Dr. John was the featured music. A truly night tripping experience.

ОтветитьA classic blast from the past. Love the bass and conga combination.
ОтветитьLived in southern Louisiana 1990-95, never wanted to leave it. Wished i was a bit older, would've made one of those coonass girls mine at the fais do-do 🙌🤠
ОтветитьSaw and met. Not seen and met. I am the grammar police. Smiles
ОтветитьSaw him live twice. First heard this song on an Underground station out of Oak Park Illinois. 1968
ОтветитьIf I hear correctly it's bass, percussion, sax, vocals, and maybe bass drum. No guitar/piano/keyboards. Different percussion tracks in each channel (left and right).
ОтветитьStoned at night listening to WNEW-FM late at night in the 70s = my entire adolescence

ОтветитьCome together !
Ответить30 odd years ago used to listen to this on a tape whilst a huge group of us squatted a house getting wasted. Thanks to the lot from Leeds Mike, Jane and Derek whose tape it was..the Scottish fiddler Roddy, the two guys from Brighton, Reg who cut coins and his funny pal Charlie and a host of odd bods.....Life eh.
ОтветитьThe Johnnie Jenkins' version is what we used as one of the foundations (breakbeats) for Hip Hop...a bit "funkier", BUT this earlier (original) version is SMOOVE!!!
ОтветитьThank you for sharing! ^_^
ОтветитьApparently this was playing constantly on the set of Performance
ОтветитьI had this Dr. John album and one other. Someone stole them at one of my parties. Damn it.
ОтветитьHeadphones

ОтветитьI always assumed this is a Paul Weller song. I had no idea it was a cover.
