AMC was the SUV to have 2 decades early.
ОтветитьI see your from saskatchewan, what part? I am looking at buying a eagle sx4 but it is a bug hooptie
ОтветитьI remember them being quite popular even here in Switzerland and now they have completely disappeared due to rust. They are quite cool since they made 4x4 cars popular to other people than farmers and hunters. Later, they were replaced by the Subarus looking like a small copy. Restaure at least one of them!
ОтветитьHad a great time driving one. One of my favorites
ОтветитьI am looking for some parts let me know if you still have the parts eagle?
ОтветитьWhat would you like for the donor
ОтветитьI love those cars I have a 84 I've had it since I was 11
Ответить550CACH
ОтветитьThe Eagle was the same as the Concord, and the same as the Hornet Runabout wagon. they were just refreshed and renamed until Chrysler stopped making them. Solid cars and easy to work on.
ОтветитьHell yeah Dude! Those are classics!!
Not to mention becoming more difficult to find in decent condition.
I snagged a '86 Jeep Grand Wagoneer a little over a year ago .
I've had my eye out for an eagle for a while. Exactly in the price range of yours! LOL!
Excellent score 👍!!
The Eagle is really under appreciated. It was a great car. Restore it!
ОтветитьThey look good with big wheels on them my dad had one I loved driving it,they will go just about anywhere
ОтветитьJealous as hell. I'll trade you a 05 ford explorer.
ОтветитьGive it to me ☺️
ОтветитьI currently have a 1988 Eagle in Garnet over red interior, completely stock, 258, 110 hp, auto, 4x4, air, and it's my Show Car. I've never been stuck in mud or snow. This year it gets lifted with now springs all the way around. I have the original spare (full size) tire and original jack that has never been unpacked, sill in cardboard from the company. I've had it twelve years. A great car.
ОтветитьSUV way ahead of its time, It’s history that needs saving
ОтветитьThis would make for an excellent overland rig and one of the many reasons I love the AMC Eagle.😀
ОтветитьThe speedometer goes up to 180? KM?
ОтветитьCall it Marty or McFly because it is a style of car that " came back to the future|. Lol...
ОтветитьThose AMC's, and the 3rd Gen Honda Civic/CRX's always caught my attention... and the K-car coupes.
ОтветитьI would love to have one of those for the beach on South Padre Island, Texas. Long ago I had an early 1980s Jeep Wagoneer. Their 4WD came in several options, I recall names like Selectrac and Quadratrac. The base option you had to be stopped in Neutral to engage the 4WD and could not exceed 40 mph in 4WD. The top option you could engage and disengage at any speed and you could operate it in full time AWD. In the USA most of these went to the crushers in Cash for Clunker campaigns.
ОтветитьBetty
ОтветитьThat is a pretty decent specimen.
ОтветитьAre you able to get parts?
ОтветитьMy dad had passed his 1980 AMC Eagle to me about 8 years ago. Eventually the motor went bad and was forced to get rid of it. Now that we've lost my dad its definitely on my bucket list to find another one. So many great memories going hunting and fishing in it with him. The AWD on these are truly amazing it puts my jeep to shame.
ОтветитьLove it man..they are bad ass.unfortunitly.i had one of those renault eagles..ugh
ОтветитьCould the chassis of the parts car be used to clone a different body on top with engine update? Like Chevy V6 and a early 50s Chevy Body? 64 Tempest? 77 Corvette?? I really like the AWD part. Maybe a 66 Chevelle wagon body. Auto trans with Overdrive is a good upgrade. Don/t junk out the backup chassis. Find a guy that can reuse it. Please. Dennis in Virginia
ОтветитьYes they are the smoothest ride ever, I would restore both of them.
Ответитьhad 4 of these thruout my childhood years ranging from 1986 to 1988 in total we had 8 because we always had a parts car and we all had inline 6 and manual we actaully had a auto and my step dad took the manual parts out of the parts car to make the auto a manual because ewww automatic we pulled so many cars and trucks out of the ditch because we lived on a very windy wood land dirt roar in ontario canadfa in the 90s I think our last eagle 1988 always a wagon went from light blue to a midnight blue and my step dad got rid of it in 2001 and went on to own a 1994 or 95 s10 blazer and before the eagles he had 4x4 1st gen S10 chevy pickups he still drives s10 blazers but like the last gen 1999- 2005 although i swear last i saw him as in my teens mom left him and i only see him a few times a year on the streets I think i saw him driving a gmc acadia which would be the newest thing hes owned since he owned a 1988 s10 pickup in 1993 lol I would love a inline 6 manual eagle wagon to fix up there soo rare and they remind me of my step dad and my child hood especailly the winters of the 90s when it snowed in october and stayed in november and went ice fishing before christmas because the ice was already a foot or more thick thanks for the video
ОтветитьI remember these cars when they were first introduced, an ingenious move by AMC! I love nothing more than restoring older American cars, once they are gone they are gone, there will be no more. So let's enjoy them while we can.
ОтветитьI’ve wanted one of these since I was a kid.
ОтветитьI want one! AMC Hornet Sportabout! But this will do!
ОтветитьI would Name the 4x4
the great Sweet beaks
always wanted one in
the 80s .
Looking for the one they

I like it The Bird ...

👔👍
Take it to the detail geek to get it all cleaned up.
ОтветитьShould fix both on sell one 👌🏽
ОтветитьI imagine it's difficult to find parts. However, sounds like the engine is the same as the wranglers..
ОтветитьThat is an excellent find. Most of them are either beyond repair or trailer queens, there aren’t many left in between.
What I would do is restore the nicer one, strip away any of the usable parts that are left from the donor, and then (assuming it’s not too rusted) put the donor body on a new chassis. There are really no wrong answers as long as it’s AWD or 4x4: a rock crawler built on a Blazer chassis, a custom subframe with a WRX drivetrain, or even a mini monster with a full cage and mud tires.
You can't buy just one!
ОтветитьHey just wanted to let you know be careful with the hinges on the trunk lid...with time they crack and you can't find them anywhere. I'm currently remodeling my dad's 86 eagle and that is a problem I came across unless you can make your own please be careful.
ОтветитьI likes this classic car EAGLE By Americano Motor Company AMC.
ОтветитьGo for it
Last truly American car
Looking to buy a pretty ratty sx4 great cars
ОтветитьThe eagle was the predecessor to the RX300
ОтветитьMan, I’m not really into cars, but I would just love to have one of those, I’d have to pay someone to restore it, I guess I like these because you hardly ever see one on the road, they just appeal to me because they are early 4x4’s also. I can do without the wood grain though! Awesome.
ОтветитьA full restore would be interesting as it is one of a kind, ahead of it's time really and not many do it. Quite thee endeavor to say the least but it would be worth in the end in many ways. I imagine this car was quite the seller in Canada with the winters they way they are.
Ответитьyes you cant let this die
ОтветитьCan I have one? (joke) Lol. I love these things. I would love to have one for my first car.
ОтветитьWhat do you think I should do with the nice Eagle? Should I fully restore it?
Ответить
