✍️Article 279A of the Constitution empowers the President to constitute a joint forum of the Centre and States namely, Goods & Services Tax Council (GST Council). The provisions relating to GST Council came into force on 12th September, 2016. President constituted the GST Council on 15th September, 2016.

✍️"246A. (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in articles 246 and 254, Parliament, and, subject to clause (2), the Legislature of every State, have power to make laws with respect to goods and services tax imposed by the Union or by such State.

✍️Article 270: Distribution of the goods and services tax (GST) between the Centre and the States. Article 270 is amended to provide for distribution of the goods and services tax between the Centre and the States, by order of the President after considering recommendations of the Finance Commission.
