Ok, love that Korg made some videos. But really? You cut to a hand turning a knob when showcasing the wave shaping abilities of the oscillators, even after mentioning the visual feedback from the oscilloscope? I know what hands look like, show me the waves!

The monologue is cool....why oh why does the cheaper monologue have the
ability to transpose it's sequencer and the minilogue does not? Will these extra sequencer features be added to the minilogue?

this thing looks so tiny and stupid next to their PS semi modular synthesizers in the back. why Korg, do you still make these little slim keys knob twisters? why dont you go on and build on your legacy and make real instruments again.

maybe a "maxilogue" will be the next step, obviously with some improvements: 6 voices of polyphony, and a 32 steps sequencer among other updates... oh and a full size four octaves keyboard please

I am looking for a cheap synth primarily to use in a music classroom. I am interested in something that has two oscillators where a student can tune the second oscillator to the first oscillator. My concern is that with digitally controlled oscillators - is the pitch control such that it jumps in "increments" rather than being a continuously smooth value? Can the second oscillator tune to a "5th" above or below the first oscillator? I really DO like the window showing the graphic results. I think that would be great for students to see.

Greetings

I am the proud owner of many Korg products including several Volcas, an Electribe, a few Kaossilators, a KP3, and my Monologue. I love all of my noise makers, and integrate them into my music frequently. However, I have some notes about the monologue. I believe that these items could be updated only using firmware; no hardware changes should be necessary. Please, consider these updates, or if I have reached the wrong department, send my message on to somebody who is capable of the R&D necessary. I make these suggestions out of love for your product; I am only trying to improve its usability.

1. Add pattern chains. Add parameters that allow users to Chain multiple 16 step patterns together. This is paramount to using this sequencer for live performances. Even the poorly executed and difficult to use 303 clone sequencers allow pattern chain, as do your newer volcas. With the price point on the Monologue much higher than a volca, I believe this technology should be added.

2. Alternatively (or additionally), add an option to lengthen 16 step patterns to up to 64 steps (or 128?). Arturia has a very nice method for doing this that I'm sure your team is aware of.

3. An interesting way to achieve this would be to add a slot in each patch for between 4 and 16 individual patterns within that patch, selectable by entering a new developed MODE and then selecting sequencer positions 1-16. This would make your LED feedback development for this script very simple and easy to use, just like the Monologue was intended.

4. Additionally, a transpose function would be very useful for live performance. For users trying to achieve a progression (ex. I, V, IV, V), being able to switch the key of a sequence would help a great deal. I understand that using a key trigger with an existing sequence basically achieves this, but not quite. It does not keep in beat or play continuously like a true transposition.

5. Quantization for switching between patterns.

6. My final suggestion is that, similar to the Volca Bass, you allow the option to record different sequences on each VCO.

I would like to add that I have found workarounds to my frustrations. For two years I used an external compressor/gate, and set the note sync rate very low, so I could increase the relative length of my sequences with very long notes, and added dynamics and rhythm to them by sidechaining the gate to my drum machine. it worked in a Daft Punk kind of way, but was very "limiting". That was a joke, but seriously the ability to include more notes to a sequence would have eliminated the need for this. I have also used external sequencers, but it is very frustrating to have to use an external sequencer for a device that has a great on-board sequencer.

The biggest flaw to this piece of equipment is the inability to lengthen patterns.

Thank you for your consideration

Benjamin Bedar
