Don confirms what Richard Smith says about Leo after ‘Fender’, that at that stage he just “wanted a place to tinker and some friends around to have lunch with”. After all in 1969 when he finished his dealings with CBS/Fender he was 60.

Didn't Baldwin but Gibson the Fender deal fell through? That was was not the best thing for Gibson either.
