Nothing beats the Arp 2600, not even the Minimoog.

Great look back at some amazing instruments and who used them in the early days.

Thank you. What a wonderful trip down memory lane! What a terrific age we live, where much of this gear is available as emulations, though not quite the full glory of the originals.

Warn my reel-to-reel tapes to holes on all those amazing bands 😂 never knew the synths names though, only sound. It was stunning decade long journey to recognize and learn them from the plugs, and to have some in flesh now 😊 Moog Model D + ARP2600 is heaven pairing, just like Depeche Mode ❤

The most important part of history in the 80's era are the master minds who put all those pieces in set with their rhythms in motion towards the new 80's era...
Thanks to all of those music bands we enjoyed those greatest times ever...

Ultravox was my favourite band ❤❤ but unfair that they are forgotten sometimes 😢

Greatest bands of my life were in the 80's. Thanks for the video, I have quite a few of those synths in software it's not the same but certainly cheaper!

Many groups did not have access to most of this high end gear. You should do a second part, but featuring really shitty gear, like what OMD used in the beginning. Early Techno and House also used some pretty shitty gear as well.

The most popular song of the 80's played with the Oberheim OBX A is probably "Jump", by Van Halen! With the Fairlight CMI "Running up that hill", by Kate Bush and the most popular song done with the Roland CR 78 is probably "In the air tonight", by Phil Collins!

I'm pretty sure 'don't you want me' used a JP4, not a JP8.

Most of those synths and drum machines were unaffordable by the average musicians in the 80’s unfortunately 🤷‍♂️

Ok i won t go into Prince and the LM1 since it might not be enough new wave esque but the RX5 does not sample. It can play samples since the late 2010’s because someone made a card with a usb connection but by then the 80’s were done 😅
