I thought to myself: my bathroom may be a huge pain in my behind right now & I miss having a sink, but if this lady can make this dress with 400,000 layers of fabric and one million beads then I can finish painting the ceiling tonight.” Thank you for making me not feel alone when it comes to tackling a comically large project

I know that for the stage show Wicked, they built the skirt off of the hips. As in, there is A LOT of boning from the waist, as the skirt is around 50 lbs. I remember watching a behind-the-scenes video of the Broadway show on here, and it was fascinating.

This is incredible from one movie replica costume maker to another. though i really get so frustrated when it comes to complicated parts that people speed up their video so to fast. if your doing a tutorial some people arn't as advanced as you and need it at normal speed. even for me this was very quick especially the bodice. I never understand why go to the trouble of videoing whihc I know takes up an awful lot of time, just speed it up. a lot of people do this and can never understand why. but anyway stunning you should be so proud, would love to make this though the bodice pieces are a tad confusing how you get it to drape around without a seam as the top half on some sections goes into that kind of peplum thing but continues around the back in one piece. i've been looking at all the behind the scenes videos I can find and i'ts hard to find many of the back.
But well done indeed I can appreciate how hard and time consuming these things are to make. :) best wishes Tracy

absolutely gorgeous! as to the skirt, there's no way to make it much lighter- it just needs a corset underneath to support and distribute the weight! that's really the only way to comfortably wear skirts this massive. the movie dress has the corset structure built in, but a separate garment would work just as well

when I saw the thumbnail, I thought this was a bus for how the movie costume designer made it. I had seen on tt him mention it took s whole team 270 hours to finish. I am in aww of your talent and your hands, I bet they are so sore from all that intricate beading, detailing and crown work! I usually don't comment or like but HAD TO show my love on this proj<3
