Ted Myers (The Lost, Chamaeleon Church, Ultimate Spinach) Interview (6/16/24)
Ted Myers is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and author who began his musical journey in a trio of bands in the late 60’s. A founding member of Boston based band The Lost, Ted would provide guitar and vocals from 1965 to 1967. During that time the group issued a few singles, but no album. With a renewed interest years later, a couple of compilation CDs would appear. Ted then formed Chamaeleon Church with future SNL member and actor Chevy Chase (yes that Chevy Chase!). The band would release one self-titled album in 1968. Then Mr. Myers was to join the band Ultimate Spinach and would write and sing on the band’s 3rd album, sometimes referred to as Ultimate Spinach III, released in 1969. Later there were stints in the bands Glider and Incognito. And then came Ted’s solo album, Lifeafterlife in 2012, which was 6 years in the making. My guest would continue to write songs and try his hand at writing, penning 3 books and several short stories.
