Good work with with the review. I really love this movie so much. I enjoyed its plot, love the characters, love the tension, suspense, and how it became such a classic in my view.

"The Thing" is a lot of things, one thing it is definitely not, is boring! When I watch movies in my movie room I never bring my phone. In fact I chastise my wife any time she brings hers in. She hardly ever brings her phone in now. "The Thing" is, IMO, Carpenter's best film and ranks in my top 5 of alltime horror movies! The music alone is almost as iconic as Jaws as far as suspense goes!

I really enjoyed this episode! I liked your enthusiasm John as opposed to Matt, who looked bewildered for the majority of this one 🤣 I imagine this is how you feel about Jaws 🤣. I have to disagree though, I really like The Thing but Alien is far better and Close Encounters is up there for me in terms of alien movies. On a side note I love The Hateful Eight. I like Halloween, The Fog, Escape From New York, They Live, Big Trouble. Christine is ridiculous but fun and well made. Have you seen Prince of Darkness? Aside from Jaws (which I dont consider a horror) Psycho and Elm street are my favourite 2 horrors.

I suspect MacReady was a nod to Spencer Tracy’s character in Bad Day at Black Rock.
