If you want to plant tomatoes in a grow bag, what brand of 10 gal grow bag do you recommend?
ОтветитьI'm not a millennial, but a first time tomato grower! 😊 Thank you so much for the information on how many I can plant per pot, and soil. Now, I can proceed planting my tomatoes with a better knowledge about them. Great video!
ОтветитьI live on the Gulf coast and I'm getting ready to plant my tomatoes next week.
This may be a stupid question. When it gets incredibly hot here will the Sun heat the black pots so much as to heat the soil enough to harm the roots or effect the growth?
BTW, Last year I followed your instructions and only planted 3 plants, one per pot. I harvested more tomatoes than when I planted 10 plants!
Peat is also great for water retention. It holds extra water in any kind of easily draining medium. Just I don't use more than 14% peat in my soil mix. Try it out. 😊
ОтветитьYou lost me at the name calling. 😢
ОтветитьThanks for this video Barb, I needed this
ОтветитьYay! This lady is so awesome.
ОтветитьI'm a bit late to the party but I tried this last year and it worked pretty good. What would you recommend adding to the potting mixture in order to use it the following year?
ОтветитьCarefull with that copper...that will kill worms and just about any other life.
ОтветитьHi! My crappy backyard soil is mixed with old bits of dried leaves from fall. It's kinda made its own dirt pile over the last few months. Do Those need to be sifted out or can I leave it in there?!
ОтветитьCan’t tell you how much money I have spent on bags of expensive soil for container growing which I have been doing for years. To the point that with all my costs being considered I must have been growing the most expensive tomatoes in the state.
Also it is important to follow the weekly fertilizing that she talks about. Containers drain quickly washing out nutrients etc. And I am almost afraid to not follow her instructions, she may show up at my house to check up on me. 😂
Growing a bush cherry tomato that I'm starting from seed in a container this year. This info is very helpful, thank you.
ОтветитьConcise and to the point! Excellent.
ОтветитьVery clear..Tks
Ответить🎉Thank you... 🌹
ОтветитьThank you my lady,I'm going to do what you thought,me about tomatoes in pots, contaners😊
ОтветитьWonderful and informative video. Thanks
ОтветитьYes Ma’am…, I’m a Millennial and I always put two tomato plants in each pot and haven’t been having much success. I promise not to do it again. Thanks for the scolding. I needed to hear it! (-;
ОтветитьAnxious to try this method,
ОтветитьI wish I would’ve seen this a week ago!!
ОтветитьYou have many people right here on YT that don't do nearly as much as she said, but their crops turn out amazing. Plus 99% of what she does and talks about on her channel are flowers, but I do like some of her logic though. So you be the judge.
Ответитьwhere did you get that big black pot from? enjoyed your video.
ОтветитьThanks very awesome info👌👌🌹
ОтветитьWow, that was an AWESOME video! I learned so much, and was afraid to move for fear of a smack. Love your teaching style. Thank you for such an informative video. I’m going to give it a try.
ОтветитьSome good advice. However backyard soil in her area is different than mine in North Carolina. My soil is very acidic and adding peat moss makes the soil way too acidic for tomatoes. In addition her soil does not address the compaction issue in containers. Soil is 25% air. Instead of peat moss I would recommend mushroom compost, neutral ph, contains gypsum to prevent compaction and also contains calcium. I believe the best soil is the specifically labeled raised bed soil mixed with 25% mushroom compost and soil acidified or fertilizer with soil acidified for tomatoes that like a very slightly acidic soil.
ОтветитьIf you’re planting goes awry, don’t blame her!
ОтветитьWhat do you use to fill in all of the holes in your yard that you created when you dug up your crummy backyard soil?😳
ОтветитьJeez so much shade in this vid
ОтветитьWhat a Honey!!
ОтветитьWhat a great presentation of information. Thank you.!
ОтветитьBoring not a teacher
ОтветитьHow often do you water the plant and is the same process good for bell peppers?
Ответитьthe Millennial bashing is unnecessary...they are quite intelligent.
ОтветитьYou idiot. The whole reason I watched was to see how to remove the bulb and you skipped over it. 🙄
ОтветитьI wish I knew of you before now ❤
ОтветитьI wish I had come across this video years ago. I have grown large, magnificent tomato plants, losing the large fruits to blossom end rot. I live in an area where we often get torrential downpours. Do you believe three total applications of bone meal would be sufficient after a very wet summer? After so many failed attempts, I had given up. However, I really miss growing my own vegetables. I do not have access to compost or backyard garden soil, so I am going to give this approach a try. Thank you for your time.
ОтветитьI just tried this method and I just want to share my experience so far. And add that if you live out in the country like I do with abundant wildlife around, be prepared to have your plants dug up every night by racoons attracted to the bone meal. Also squirrels and dogs. The first 3 nights after I planted I had raccoons dig up the tomatoes and also the pepper plants I planted. I caught them on my ring camera. So take precautions to deter animals when you first plant. I put cayenne pepper on the soil and around the containers. I had the racoons come the next night but left as soon as they got close enough to smell the pepper. Just my experience. Thanks
ОтветитьShould you feed the tomato tone one week after you plant or is that too early.
ОтветитьThank you for the excellent information. I have had very good luck growing tomatoes in large pots for many years.
ОтветитьHI. Very informative. How do you arrive at the percentages for the soil ?
ОтветитьShe knows what she's talking about. After growing tomatoes for years, I followed this woman's instructions and I had the best crop I've ever had.
ОтветитьI cannot find the 4 pound bag of Copper Fungicide. I have a very large home garden. Do you know of any other Copper Fungicide that is comparable to the Bonide Product? Thank you.
ОтветитьGreat video! Clear and concise. I was given two tomato starts, and am now excited to go purchase the recommended products and get started. Thanks so much!
ОтветитьI have two plants in my container and They are are kind of big but I was wondering if i could separate them so I could move them into a garden bed
ОтветитьQuestion, when is your first application of fertilizer? Ok, I just found the answer. I fertilizer one week after planting. Another question, how often do we apply the copper fungicide? Thanks for the video, its greatly appreciated!🌼
ОтветитьThank you so much for the reply!🍅🌼🏵🌸
ОтветитьHow do you add the bone meal and fertilizer if you mulch the container? I use a 2 inch layer of straw to keep moisture in and weeds out.
