I had a few of these from 13-10 years ago. All where very reliable (don’t know if new ones are). I have the beretta 21a. I say they are pretty close to equal, but everything seems just a little better on the beretta except the sights lol. I don’t think they are a bad choice. I say only try cci ammo, or federal punch when looking for carry ammo if that’s what it’s used for.
Also as far as safety goes. I had a car pull out in front of my motorcycle while I was going 35mph. Ran straight into the side. Hit so hard you could see my body print in it. Had a pt22 in my pocket loaded. Nothing happened through hitting the car and bouncing over then flipping 5 times.
I wish I could find the Taurus .25 Poly but they may have discontinued it
ОтветитьGun's not made for the ammo and the ammo isn't made for the gun.
Sounds like the communists have their hands dirty with the ammo makers and with the gun manufactures.
Thank u sir
Semper Fi
The pt 22 and 25 are both sensitive to ammo. The 25 likes fiocchi fmj and the 22 after 4 year i am still not sure what is best for it. My pistoles are impossible to pull the slide back.
Ответитьis this for sale?
ОтветитьI have had feed issues with my Taurus…
I solved the problem by disassembling the mag and cleaning all parts white glove clean then lightly oiling each part… thoroughly removing any extra..
Put it back together and have never had another miss feed ..
Just for your info!🤗
Typical of Taurus QC, I've had a PT-22 PLY for years and it's been reliable and accurate, I've found nothing to complain about. In the meantime, I see others having issues left and right with theirs.
ОтветитьI bought one and tried 12 different ammunitions and 10 jammed. I used the CCI mini mags 1235fps and jammed far less. Then used the CCI stingers >1235fps was better. I called my PT22, “The Jam-Omatic”
ОтветитьSo everytime you would empty a mag and with no lock open, you will perform a dry fire to alert you handgun is empty. Does that count as a dryfire?
Ответитьlike your picture in the background behind the bar
ОтветитьBottomline, put a few 100 rounds and keep it real clean before carrying. The grip is just too bulky for me. I want a 22lr or 25 that is thin and easy to carry in shorts and a t-shirt. I don't think it is this one. Thanks!!!
ОтветитьLooks like the best ammunition choice for this engineering wonder is "Imaginary Ammo".
ОтветитьI bet the allen wrench is to push out she’ll casings if they get stuck in the barrel.
ОтветитьI like your back drop, nice
Ответить✨IS BECAUSE THE SPRING IS VERY HARD , BUT WWITH THE USE IS GOING TO BE BETER , I HOPE . 👍 I LIKE YOUR VIDEOS 👍✨🌈✨✨✨
ОтветитьFYI mine runs Mini Mags like no other. They seem to overcome the hard slide pull and cycle every time. Anything less than 40 grain bullets and you are probably armed better with a rock.
ОтветитьI dont know who is going to read this, but from what I've seen failure to feed has been due to the operator not seating the magazine well enough.
ОтветитьI use the CCI MINI MAG 22 LR HP. No problem at all. I bought a 2nd mag for my Taurus 22 pistol from a gun store close to me and it doesn't feel well at all. I'm gonna have to buy it directly from the manufacturer.
ОтветитьThey need to make lne in 25acp. I dont trust rimfire for defense.
ОтветитьGood fair review. Thanks.
ОтветитьI have the Beretta Bob Cat which is Basically the same with the difference being, mine has a hammer Double/Single Action, all steel, and is 7 + 1 capacity! Using the proper ammo, I have had No Issues with mine! I love the single action after that first shot or I can carry it Cocked & Locked. Unfortunately I have had three Taurus firearms in the Past and the only one I had No Problems with was the 38 spl Revolver! the other two semi auto guns had to be returned to Taurus and finally sold. TIP: My Magazine holds 8 rounds BUT the User Guide says Not to load the Mag with 8 rounds because this will cause failure to feed on your second shot, so I follow this loading advice and none of my 4 Magazines have experienced any failures to feed!
ОтветитьBeing a delayed blow back gun it is important to keep the barrel clean for proper ejection.
ОтветитьGood job on the video. Tip to all having trouble inserting magazine. You put too many rounds in the magazine! It easily accepts 9 but will not insert if you try it. I don't count when I load and found out the dumb way when I couldn't feed mag. Being the typical man and making it fit I knocked the top of the receiver out. Finally realized my error. So remember only 8 in the mag. Mine had tons of FTF and jams so I sent back to Taurus. They adjusted it but have not had chance to test out yet. Was going to carry as backup or give to the Mrs. but it needs to be reliable or it goes on sale.
ОтветитьMine does fine with the Federal Punch.
ОтветитьFor long time I have been looking to the Taurus PT 22 and willing to purchase it.
On the 29th December 2022 this was sold for 201US$.
When I went on the 15th Jan 2023 to buy it, all of a sudden the price had jumped to 243US$, representing a hefty 21% increase for the same firearm - no extra features added. Same item.
I reached out to Taurus to show them my disappointment ( how many of you have received a 21% increase?) and here below a copy and paste of their answer,
My name is Hazel with Taurus customer service. I have received your email this morning. I do apologize that you are unhappy. Taurus only
Taurus USA
I consider this answer a BLESSING; because it gives me a true reality check of what the customer service is in this company and what YOU WILL expect, when something goes wrong with your Firearm (and Taurus is notorious for quality issues)
Therefore God blessing my letter to them, as it gave me the possibility to have an immediate reality check of what to expect from their customer service in the future: CARELESSNESS.
I use CCI Mini Mags in my PT22 Poly, identical to the one that you tested, and it has functioned 100%, with good accuracy. I have several magazines for mine, but with the slide so difficult to "rack", the likelihood of ever executing a reload from a fresh magazine is probably out of the question. I've actually only carried mine once for "serious" duty, and that was only last weekend when I had to venture into a less-than-savory part of a nearby city to attend a wedding. I carried it in an Uncle Mike's padded nylon size 1 pocket holster, but it still printed in the front pocket of my Dockers until a tucked a wadded up handkerchief to further obscure its outline.
Ответитьwhy is so hard to slide the thingy back its really hard
thnx
i like your video a couple of things this gun gets dirty really fast the chamber will foul in about 25 rounds worse if using cheap ammo. mini mags work the best they are not really mag rounds, 1260 fps the other issue is the mag its self. put a rubber oring on it and slide it down to the baseplate into the slight recess it will make it harder to seat the mag but will keep it in the right place for reliable feeding, have fun God bless
Ответитьive had one for about 20 years makes a great back up or if you are wearing shorts and a t shirt you still have a war to defend yourself
ОтветитьHow about test firing the BROWNING BPR PERFORMANCE RIMFIRE FRAGMENTING BULLET IN THE PT22
ОтветитьCCI mini mags work best enough power to cycle the very stiff slide causing the FTF. besides CCI is considered by many experts to be the premere rim fire manufacturer.
ОтветитьI was going to carry a 22 that would not be my first choice of a weapon right there
ОтветитьI think loading 8 is causing issues. 6-7 max . I have a phoenix hp22a and have federal punch which feed great.
ОтветитьNice review. I just bought one today. I'll let you know once I get it (NY) and let you know what I find..
ОтветитьJust curious...it looks as tho your shooting right hand dominate and left eye dominate....is this the case?.... my father actually shoots this way because of his eyesight is very poor in his right eye.
ОтветитьDo you carry this gun? Have you mentioned it to your therapist? You really should, because you obviously have suicidal tendencies. I inherited one of these little turds with triggers, and it is far and away the worst gun I have ever picked up, let alone owned. I have tried several different brands of ammo, polished the feed ramp, lubed and cleaned the whole gun spotless, and I still can't complete a full mag without at least one failure. Trying to get purchase to rack this little POS after a failure is like trying to work on a watch with a pipe wrench. Most people simply cannot rack this gun, especially in an emergency. Carrying a .22 for self defense says how little you value your safety. I'd rather have a blade.
ОтветитьGreat review . This is an interesting tool in my collection as I own 4 Taurus firearms 2 revolvers in 357 and a 380 . As my prosomal choice I run CCI blazer brass as practice ammo in everything I own as its a good baseline . I got this as a desk gun to keep in my house in case . But after taking it out to the range numerous times its become a tool that does well in any situation. Release the safety aim and shoot . Perfect for concealment and having something while going out in your neighborhood for a walk. Living in a vast urban city I feel safe with this . I as a rule run mini mags as I get the best results but I live the ergonomics and simplicity of this . Its very much a keeper in my rotation
ОтветитьTaurus bought a Beretta plant in Brazil hence the PT22 and the PT92. While the Taurus PT22 is similar to the Beretta Bobcat, the main difference is that the PT22 is DAO and the Bobcat is DASA also the mag release is in a different location. I have the older version of the PT22. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 😊.
ОтветитьYou are exactly right. Ive had my Taurus .22 poly for several years. 10feet maximum. 15feet maybe.
ОтветитьI haven't had any problems with my pt-22 fireing or reloading by it self with any rounds you should try the super Suppressor rounds
ОтветитьThank you for this video.Just picked one of these up. ( poly)The one magazine i have is "iffy". I have been going w 6 in the mag, plus one in the barrel.along w CCI Mini mags. (Varmint) No FTF this way. Curious, will the original TP mags work on this poly version?
ОтветитьWow cheap ammo works better than the good stuff 😂and that’s alright by me
ОтветитьNice . . . YOU ~ ROCK ! ! 👍🇺🇸🤛
ОтветитьThis small gun is pure trash. Don't waste your time or money, or you'll certainly regret it.
ОтветитьDon't buy this worthless POS. Multiple problems trying to fire every clip.
ОтветитьFyi don't waste your money on the federal punch , the pt 22 absolutely refuses to run them.
ОтветитьLet us think weel gun,
ОтветитьPs wheel gun
