Marit Lage monoblack secret commander 😉
ОтветитьSuch creative decks. it is awesome to see them. A little sad that there wasn't any non-creature hidden commander represented for the top 3, since it felt like the prompt encouraged expand our ideas beyond creatures. Still great to see what people brewed!
ОтветитьVery cool to see my submission on the big screen, thanks for putting this together!
ОтветитьI like the Capitoline Triad deck because you would actually play the game. Just getting the emblem while incredibly OP is not an infinite combo win.
The other two look like every game would just be the exact same as every other game you play with it. You get the hidden commander, infinite combo and win.
Hey!! My friend made the Haakon deck! Very cool so see his submission here!
ОтветитьSounds salty,
but I am realy disappointed about the winning decks.
Iname and Haakon are for sure iconic cards, but I see so once a week a maxed builded version of the decks. 😪
For example in the Iname Deck I missing Nether Traidor (and some similiar cards), peause there are some more persistant threats even if the opponent can handle the first wave/s.
Haakon have the missfortuned that he is the favorit card from a childhood friend (actualy the whole knight tribal. This dude have three different knight EDH Deks, weirdo 🙃), so allready saw every Dek with and around Haakon.
Good Work for three winners but EDHREC I am realy disappointed😒
Nine-nine!
ОтветитьHey! Another Iname deck!
ОтветитьWhen are we going to get another upping the average.
Ответитьthe Iname deck looks a joy to play
ОтветитьDang it! You really need to put out a short video when these contests start.
I would have submitted a deck for this. My first commander was Horde of Notions. Of course the first deck was an elemental deck, but this was back in 2008 when EDH was a judge format and I was told that each judge chooses a single commander...so, my second deck, also using Horde of Notions, was a knight deck with Haakon, Stromgald Scourge as the secret commander.
Edit: oh, and now I see one of the finalist decks uses Haakon.
Wish there was some honorable mentions
Ответитьthe key to secret commanders is your opponents not seeing them coming AND having them actually be cast and stick. triad is good because unless they counter it on the spot they're in a lot of trouble without a farewell in hand more times than not. secret commanders completely fall apart if they're telegraphed and can be responded to before they do their thing since there's SO many exile removal effects beyond just normal removal these days.
EDIT: ALSO if the deck is too gimmicky and relies on the opponents NOT knowing your commander... it's not a great deck because you can only play it once per group if it's that flimsy. really need the deck to stand on it's own despite opponents KNOWING going in who the real commander is.
Only hidden commander approach I've ever made is when Rocco tutors Light Paws with it into play.
ОтветитьThat Kykar is really siiiick.
ОтветитьI wish I saw this contest! I would of posted my Rug of Smothering deck!
ОтветитьI don't really see the point of the Hakkon deck when the actual commander does almost the same thing...?
ОтветитьThe Haakon deck needs Nameless Inversion. Great for removing indestructible creatures and protecting Haakon from removal.
ОтветитьI’m so sad I missed this contest. I just made an ink-treader hidden commander deck 😭
ОтветитьLove seeing Haakon as one of the Secret Commanders here! I've had mine for a year or so. Unfortunately, I'm kind of sad to see it's literally the Knight Preconstruct minus White and Blue. No hate on the creator at all.
Haakon has been a goal of mine for YEARS, and I figured out the perfect Face Commander for him months before Sidar was released...
Phenax, God of Lying to people about who the REAL Commander is. Essentially, it's the same setup, I just get Phenax in and start milling myself until I find Haakon, then the real party starts.
As a tip to anyone wanting build similar:
Gravepurge, Footbottom Feast, Enhanced Surveillance, and of course, Elixir of Immortality. For when someone tries to delete your Graveyard shenanigans.
Congratulations to the Finalists, I’m sad to see that my Retro Bears didn’t even get looked at. I was hoping someone would appreciate the time and effort it takes to build a deck with a frame restriction. Everybody loves it at the LGS. Oh well, we’ll keep trying
ОтветитьI would love to see a Secret Partners commander deck contest. One legend to bind two other cards in your deck as dual commanders!
