I made an appointment with the Portland consulate and she asked me to scan my bank records as well as ids.
The consulate office told me to go to the Mexico City inm so I did and hired a Mexican speaking facilitator. She got all the paperwork prepared and took me to the inm and all I had to do was sign my name and they printed me a card within an hour as well as issued Ms a cyrp number. The INM office took about an hour and was stressful and hot. I forgot to eat that morning and got very light headed so they called a doctor to took my vitals and told me never to skip breakfast. He said my metabolism slowed so much because I didn’t have any nutrition in me. He brought me a bread roll and water. I couldn’t eat the bread as I have a gluten allergy but the water helped. It was great medical care and information for my life. Everyone was so kind. Unfortunately I didn’t get a tax I’d number at that time so I had to hire a different facilitator in puerto Vallarta to get me a tax I’d number. I bought a condo in PV and my permanent residency makes life so easy entering Mexico. I get in the line for nationals at passport control. So there are no time restrictions for my visit.
Hi....those income numbers you give for temp/permanent residency are Gross income payroll totals before deductions or actual net deposits to your bank account monthly? Please clarify if you can. Thanks.
ОтветитьMexicans faced the same issues and turndowns frequently when applying for a U.S. visa, or temporary residency. Even if they meet all the requirements and have all the documentation they get turned down. The reason: “you don’t qualify at this time”. It’s all up to the criteria of the agent that reviews your application
ОтветитьIs that gross income or net? And what if your savings is in a retirement fund and savings account., does that count?
ОтветитьIf you don’t like Mexican Law, don’t come. We the people
Of Mexico demanded to tighten the requirements because we witness racism from us citizens to Mexicans in our own country. We are fed up of people demanding to be served in English when the official language in the Constitution is Spanish and the original people’s languages, the dollar is not legal tender here. The right to discuss demand or complain is reserved solely for the Mexicans and foreigners must refrain to complaint, discuss, or even talking about the state of the nation or any issue exclusive to Mexicans.
Better to go to live in the Philippines 🌴
ОтветитьGeez they just accept rich people. We should do the same here in US. No poor Mexicans.
ОтветитьPlease don't come here.
Stop invading us.
Stay in the United States, Canada, Europe, or wherever you come from.
We are tired of people of your kind ruining our culture.
Because we don’t want the enemy right here. You voted for it
Ответитьmove to a border town, no residency needed and you can bring your own car without getting a permit.
ОтветитьYou just need to marry a mexican and thats another way you can get permanentcy and later become citizen..why complicate yourself? Showing your imcome..
ОтветитьDoes purchasing a home in Mexico quality you in any way?
ОтветитьHi! I miss your videos. Where are you guys?
Ответитьi knoiw thi9s video is one year old, but now things has change now thanks to Donald Trump..so get all of you guys from Amercan to get your American visa to enter or visit or live here in Mexico.. now American People are not gettting house in Mexico no more..
ОтветитьSilly question, but I don't think you mentioned it. Do you have to meet either the income or savings threshold, or both?
Ответить? To buy a property you have to be born on Mexico ??
Ответитьquit with your damn gentrification !
ОтветитьSo I could qualify for temporary residency based on monthly income right now, but I likely won't be able to keep my current job while working from Mexico whether it's remote or not :-/
ОтветитьQuestion I believe you can use your ATM card from US banks if you are a resident. Is that correct?
ОтветитьI see eastern europeans in my neighborhood and in my building (condo) They don't work and don't speak English. Who is bringing them into our country and getting the benefits. I worked and paid into the system.
ОтветитьI will be in CDMX April. I will enjoy your city for 9 days, then I will go home. I will go to local coffee shops (no starbucks for me). I patronize local food vendors.
ОтветитьI rode my bicycle 5400 miles across the U.S. to say bye to some friends and then turned south out of Iowa after RAGBRAI, to head to Mexico.
I'd spent over 300,000 dollars trying to keep my lovely wife alive from 2016 to 2021 and had burned through most of my savings, well, all of my savings, actually.
But I had a great job in the defense industry so was starting over saving (at 65).
I lost her in '21, but went into autopilot, kept going to work for a year, realized I wasn't working for anything, anymore, and quit. I bought a bike and started riding. In '23, I saw the writing on the wall for the U.S.: it was going full stupid. I gave everything away or sold what I could in a very short time and took off. 3.5 months later, I was in Mexico, 100 lbs lighter. I was able to find an apartment and a Mexican friend who helped me survive (no Spanish skills).
I overstayed my Visitor's Visa. I've lived putting money into the local economy, buying local, bothering no one, staying the hell away from the beautiful females and now, at almost 68, sweating getting caught, I found this video and heard about the program for people who have overstayed their Visa. I sure as hell don't meet the regular financials, but what I do make monthly has been more than enough to pay for my large apartment, food, utilities, internet, phone and a comfortable lifestyle.
I will have to look into this, now, and feel a great burden lifted. Thanks for doing this video!!
And yes, I love Mexico! (First wife Mexican)
Mexico allows a person to stay 180 days without a visa, much longer than any other country! Most South American countries it's 90 days; Thailand 30 and Vietnam 45! 180 days is more than long enough for me!
ОтветитьI am a resident. I will tell you that you will not be able to qualify any other way than financial solvency. The other ways to qualify will not be considered at a Mexican Embassy in the US.
ОтветитьLooks like ima get me a Mexican chick and a Mexican baby. A mans gotta do what a man has to do.
ОтветитьI have been to many other countries and today in 2025, Mexico is off my list. I lived there because I couldn’t afford Los Angeles. My number one reason for not wanting to live there is the Napoleonic Code Law and the police harass you all the time. They don’t have to have evidence to charge you. It’s like the Gestapo or the NVKD. Everything else was fine.
ОтветитьIm guna be an Illegal alien in Mexico
ОтветитьEven Mexico has standards on how much money you make to live there. America is the Dumbest Country in the World. The Want CRIMINAL ILLEGALS that need to be taken care of as soon as the get here.
ОтветитьLuckily, my wife of 30 years is a Mexican citizen, probllem solved.
ОтветитьGreat video. Moving to Spain or Mexico or both. The people in the us are getting unbearable. 😢
ОтветитьMy country consulate website mentioned I need my bank or investment statements stamped with the bank original stamp. I don't know what they mean. I haven't heard of a stamp on a statement. Are you aware of this? How do I accomplish this?
ОтветитьWhy would anyone want to live in Mexico !😊
ОтветитьCan someone could tell me witch consulates are more relaxed in Mexico please ?
ОтветитьDid you mention that a temporary resident can de expelled with just an administrative letter from SEGOB. you will have no recourse. A permanent resident can only be expelled after there has been a felony conviction. I state this because I have have been to court many times by people bringing false charges against me. That is very common in rural Mexico. Be EXTREMELY cautious of getting a lawyer in Mexico.
ОтветитьMet a couple from LA who moved to San Miguel Allende. They had so many complaints about Mexico I asked them why they didn’t move back to Cali. They said they were seriously considering it! They should be required interviews for any doofus considering abandoning the US.
The most salient complaint involved air travel. LAX to Mexico City had deals all the time, and they bought tickets at those prices several times in preparation to move. However, the airfares from MC to LAX were 50 to 75% higher than the other direction; they learned this after they had moved! What a scam, but just the first in a long line of ‘We got you where we want you, now you gotta pay’ gringo charges (which Mexican citizens are also subjected to, sadly).
Are you naive? You’ve come to the right place!😂😢
It's 2025 ;-)
Ответитьgreat program. thank you,
ОтветитьI would drop the reference to Canadian dollars. Almost no one lives in Canada.
Ответить$4,500 a month? In Mexico? You can live in the US for $4,500! Point!?!
ОтветитьJust remember to KEEP YOUR FUNDS in U.S. banks, banks in Mexico have nothing equivalent to FDIC insurance. Transfer only what you need for the short term.
ОтветитьUSA and Canadians are not welcomed in Mexico. Please leave or we are going to make you leave
ОтветитьThey're insane. Considering all the crime/kidnappings you hear about all over Mexico, they think way too highly of themselves to have practically THE highest min. requirement now (below the Cayman Islands). There are so many better/safer countries with natural beauty and truly nice people which require a fraction of that.
ОтветитьAre these per person?
ОтветитьAre these income numbers net or gross?
ОтветитьHOLA
Now 2025… I have begun the process. The nearest consulate is slammed !!
A permanent resident is not the same as a citizen. You can't own land near the coast. You can't vote. Not sure how many other things are off-limits but you are still a citizen of your home country while in Mexico and if you get in trouble your home country Embassy is responsible. Which is a good thing.
ОтветитьDo you know about the Phillipens ?😊
