Is the end of planet of the apes our future👀
ОтветитьHeston and co. were 2k years in the future, not 3k.
ОтветитьOver the past 55 years I have wondered how the Statue of Liberty could have been teleported to a coastal cliff from New York harbor with the torch and the head rays intact. I guess I need to look into more suspension of belief, don't I?
ОтветитьTwo words - CHARLTON HESTON!
ОтветитьI never noticed the fishing boat out in the water during the last scene. I guess that's what you call a troll.
Ответитьi saw that movie when it was in the theaters back then. i was ten. I had no idea rod serling wrote that. He was famous those foreboding twist endings.
ОтветитьIt's "Rosney McDowell", isn't it?
(...sorry...)
so where is it FFS
ОтветитьCharleTON Heston, dammmit! NOT Charleston Heston!!! The Charleston is a dance from the 1920s, pal!
ОтветитьAwesome video ! We were just there in June . Such a thrill! Grew up in LA but never hiked this trail til last summer . Keep up the good work !
ОтветитьNote: his name is Charlton, no S in front of the ton.
Ответить*Charlton, not, "Charleston."
ОтветитьI grew up on these classics <3 I've tried to like the new versions, especially as Gary Oldman was in one, but... gimme the old school man-in-an-ape-costume anyway. Though I did kinda love Tim Burton's enough to name my cat Thade. At least he used actors in costumes.
ОтветитьCharlton not Charleston
ОтветитьThe image will become the real thing very very soon...(obviously without the horse, the girl and Heston)
Ответитьdid you call Charlton Heston, Charleston Heston several times?
ОтветитьThat Jim Rockford's trailer parked down there?
ОтветитьNew York City a garden? Sounds like the chief monkey is getting into the wacky terbacky.
ОтветитьEntirely fitting that the Rod Serling-est, twistiest Rod Serling twist ending should be filmed at a place called Point DOOM.
Ответитьi think thats also the same location where they filmed the pilot episode of I Dream of Jeanie where Tony Nelson found the bottle.
ОтветитьIf you watch Roddy McDowell’s Home videos they used this spot a few times in the movie.
ОтветитьWhat really made this scene so profound and just downright scary at the time the movie was released is that many Americans truly felt that nuclear annihilation was inevitable. There was a real and present danger called Russia and the Cuban missile crises was still fresh in people's minds as it occurred just six years before the movie was released. The movie was conveying to many viewers that this is where were headed.
Ответитьrecently watched the original that still works with final moments with jerry goldsmith score and the chilling twist image thanks for showing the actual location
ОтветитьFantastic movie beatiful point dume 🌊🌊🌊🏖️
ОтветитьEarlobe openings is a
W O M A N Trait
in Africa.
Great footage. Felt like I was there. Thanks for sharing 😊
ОтветитьEvery time he says "Charleston" Heston, I winced a little...
ОтветитьAwesome video
Ответитьyou were facing the wrong way for you re-enactment...
ОтветитьMaurice Evans was Samantha Steven's father in Bewitched !
ОтветитьHas anyone else noticed the boat offshore in the movie?
ОтветитьThe end scene was not Pierre Boulles idea it wasn't in his book monkey planet. It was thought of by the genius of Rod Serling of twilight zone which makes a lot of sense.
ОтветитьThere is a website called Historic Aerials that has aerial and satellite pictures of different locations from the last seventy or so years. You can see Ape City in Malibu Creek Park from around 1968.
ОтветитьWow!! What a great video, revisiting this iconic film location, best ending. 💕
ОтветитьThere's a great Greek restaurant not far from Point Dume in Malibu called Taverna Tony. Check it out. Also, please learn how to say Charleton Heston's name correctly. You mispronounced his first name every single time in this video.
ОтветитьCharleston is a city in SC or WV... others too; but not the actor...
Ответить👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬🎥🎥🎥🎥👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷😄😄😄😄😄😄😁😁😁😁
Ответитьin 1975 on the other side of those rocks was a nudist cove.
ОтветитьI like how Californians spray paint and ruin their nature. Shlthole democrat party state.
ОтветитьThank you so much for the comprehensive tour of the location!
ОтветитьActually it's 1500 years into the future (the year 3500).
ОтветитьVery interesting. Thanks.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьIs that a ship in the distance on the original film because it isn't there when you show the scene?
ОтветитьYou'd think that the "much loved" location might get more love from Californian's. But who needs money to repair a fence? But hey, the scene is famous because of a conservative Republican Charlton Heston so it's no surprise at all.
ОтветитьPlanet of the Apes was basically an extended episode of the Twilight Zone
