Good review. I am jealous. Neat product. I just by law cannot fly this within 30 feet of people and it doesn't work over water. I live in the MOST POPULOUS city in the Philippines. Kind of hard to ask 1 million people to all stand back 100 or 200 feet. Yeah, I'd get the version with the batteries.
ОтветитьI went for the Fly More Combo and quickly found the disadvantages of Drone Only - date and time discrepancy of files and sporadic failures to record the first quick shot 👎; Drone +Phone - this is the ONLY way to fly legally in a lot of countries EU, UK, USA etc. You must be able to "take control" at a moments notice for emergencies; BUT extra capability with voice control and audio recording ✅; Drone +Controller (RC-N3) - best way to fly when NOT taking selfies; I have NOT yet found a way to connect the DJI MIC2. I've tried bluetooth but my iPhone 15 Pro doesn't recognize it as a microphone, I've plugged the RX module into the controller I have found the internal mic works in Livestream mode... fully happy with the purchase and having lots of fun on the sunny island of Tenerife Greetings
ОтветитьI made the right choice for me..went all in.. tier 3
Ответитьdont buy it
ОтветитьI am buying the Neo alone and the RC2 controller so I have a screen on my controller and a couple of extra batteries.
ОтветитьFWIW you can recharge the battery from a USB powerbank, so I can recharge the battery while the drone is in my bag while walking.
ОтветитьIf you don't buy a controller , you are missing out on a lot of added capability and safety features of the Neo.
Ответитьwhat you're able to buy depends on where you live.
ОтветитьI bought it for convenience, using palm landing without any phone connection is practically as easy as using a gopro. I keep it topped up with a small powerbank while its in my pocket.
The best camera is the one in your hand.
Nice video , I purchased the full neo kit mainly because I already had the avatar 2 & head set , great fun 👍
ОтветитьIdeally get the air3 for ya main, the neo for casual carry
ОтветитьNone of DJI combos allow manual flight. To get there, your best off buying Neo, with an Avata 2 Fly More on the side. Oh, AND a FPV Controller 3 will also be needed at another $200. Who does all this for a Neo? Someone who HAS Avata 2, wants to learn manual without beating the crap out of the Avata 2 aircraft. Meaning quite a few people based on my discussions in comments.
Bottom line: it's modular upgradeable, depending on your needs. Buy as much gear as you need to do "X" - as to manual FPV Goggles monitored flight, the Neo has the distinction of being nearly indestructible. Unlike Avata 2 it has so little mass, it won't kamakaze itself. Oh and Care Refresh is a whopping $22USD where I live. Not that I'm likely to need it. One guy is at 250 crashes. Zero damage. Another TRIED to break it -and failed!
I go the fly more combo, sold the RC-n controller and picked up a used RC2 controller on Kijiji. Enjoying the quick deploy with the RC2....no fumbling about with the phone. I do wish the battery life (per batt) was more though. Can barley go 1km before having to turn back
ОтветитьCan i use my DJI mini 2SE remote? And i will just get an RC with monitor for my Mini 2SE..
ОтветитьI got given a new neo combo and it won't link up with the app or any app ?
ОтветитьWell, today I pair the googles and the motion controler, and fly my living room like a dream, it's the son of the AVATA , its great
ОтветитьShame they don't do a package with the Neo, goggles 3, motion controller and 3 batteries/dock..... I'd be straight in...!!!
ОтветитьOk. Thank you, Captain Obvious. Just kidding (sort of). I have the Mini 4 Pro full kit. Then I bought the Avata 2 with the goggles and the flight stick. Then I just ordered the Neo, and understand that it is part of the “FPV Tree” in their development line of products. The crazy thing about it all? You can’t fly this drone with a controller that has video coming back to it. If you want video, you will need the goggles
I’m not completely sold on wearing the goggles. I think this is actually a good thing; it will push me in, deeper into the world of FPV. But all of this feels like a mixed up soup of gear, gadgets and extra items if you want to enjoy all of these drones. Truth be told, I haven’t even flown my Avata 2 with my goggles and flight stick. Not even once (although I did fire it all up to see how they connected). So what I think is this little NEO is the perfect way for me to slowly get into FPV and begin to enjoy it. The Avata 2…did you know that it can fly at 40 mph in normal mode? Oh. Wait. If you go to manual mode I found that it can fly at 60 miles per hour! Wow.
Even the NEO can fly fast. In Standard Mode it can fly at 34 mph…but if you go to Sport Mode it can fly at 43 miles per hour. That isn’t as fast as it’s big brother, but it’s still quite fast if you ask me.
If you are flying the Mini 4 Pro then in both Standard and Sport modes, it will fly at 22 mph and 36 mph respectively. Can you believe that? This means that the Mini 4 Pro with all of its bells and whistles, including the superior optics etc. can’t fly nearly as fast as that little NEO can fly. And even then again, the Avata 2 is the true speed demon.
I’m over my head. It seems that I now at least know the ladder that I need to climb. I have started with the MP4 which I really do love to fly. The next jump will be to the NEO. And finally when I want to go Mach 4 with my hair on fire it will be with that Avata 2 speed demon. The latter two will certainly be with me wearing those super cool looking DJI goggles, and perhaps even with that flight stick. Strap me in—I’m in for a big ride!
Tier 2 for sure. Waiting on the Air3s or Mavic 4 for the main drone. Will use the RC2 controller then.
ОтветитьThanks for the info ! I just received my combo with the batteries dock today, but didn't know about the power block requirement. I also thought it was included with the drone, which apparently isn't. So I went ahead and ordered a 65w one on Amazon.
ОтветитьFantastic video! Cut and dry!
ОтветитьDuh
ОтветитьI myself already had the DJI mini 2 but I was surprised by the follow me mode. And this is great after a week or 2 I have now experienced that you can fly much better with the DJI Neo through smaller openings because it is much smaller. I have already done a distance test and reached a little over 1500 meters, I had to return due to low battery. It gives more range than the DJI Mini 2 in Belgium.
I have already done a battery test and it comes out open 15 min.
What I actually wanted to say I am going to buy 1 more battery so I can charge 1 more in the drone itself and I have an hour of flight time.
Hi Thanks for the video. When are you back to NZ? Did you get your drone through Ferntech? Just wandering where the best place is to get a combo kit from (money wise). I'm in Taupo and want to use it for fishing vlogs-Cheers
ОтветитьFilmed at Epsom Downs? I am surprised we didn't bump into each other - That was the location of my first test flight with my Neo!
ОтветитьI did tier III….
ОтветитьNot forgetting that getting new batteries is not that simple right now…
ОтветитьBought the stand alone but ended up with the extra batteries and the controller, I think I’ll be getting a better quality drone soon as I really enjoy it. You’re right the stand alone AI modes are its best feature but I needed the extra versatility.
ОтветитьCould you imagine if DJI had the consideration to make the DJI Neo compatible with older controllers? Such as the NC1 controller, instead of forcing people to buy a whole new controller, to use it, to its fullest potential. I have a DJI Mini 4K, which doesn't work with my Google Pixel 7 Pro, and this is a tempting alternative (until they fix that nonsense), but the idea of then owning a second controller, which is virtually identical, except for a number.
Ответитьhello
what about a good drone for shooting at night?
My type of drone that I own has a battery life of 5 minutes so 16 minutes is a pleasure
ОтветитьThanks! Good to highlight the options. However, the base pack is very valuable. Most likely, if you go for this drone, you go for it as an evolution of a GoPro camera, this is how I see it. A kind of action cam in order to track your activities and take a family souvenir when travelling (and boy, this thing does it well). I have it as a second pocket drone for this purpose. If I want to shoot nicer landscape footage, I have another baby-drone, the Mini3. Those are replacing the Air 2 that I had before and it so much more convenient. Let's face it, most of the time, you don't want the hassle. You have little time, you pull it out, you shoot and you leave. It is also technically limited, so I prefer to use it for what it is good at: tracking. I have the base with one battery (same for the Mini. i found out that charging it during two shoots with a universal power bank is more than enough. My advice would be, don't worry about the constraints, try to define your realistic usage. Take care!
