Had higher hopes for the ending and it let me down. But good start...

The main actor overacts literally within the first minute of being on camera. That follows with the same noticeable underacting. The creepy man's smile is not creepy enough. His movements are not too sharp and scary either.

Girl come on. This little adorable, shiny, baby-faced twink bottom is supposed to be a maniac? He looks more like he should be in a gay porn.

At first I agreed that the Smiling Man should have been a bit older, his smile creepier....but then I watched it again. I actually now think he is perfect for this!
Its like he is a shape-shifter...or even age-shifter, that he can be any age he wants, any appearance he wants. Having him appear younger gives this a 'prequel' aspect.....very creepy!
I wanted to add one more thing: THIS Smiling Man actor has the best dancing.....he actually makes you hear music....when there is NONE! Superb. The music is a fantastic choice also.

I agree with others here,that smiling man was too innocent looking and not creepy at all. Honestly,the other short film of this I saw,that smiling man wasnt creepy enough either. Not to knock these short filmmakers,a lot of them are good,but The Smiling Man,to me,needs to be older with a wide maniacal, sardonic smile. Rev. Kane from Poltergeist 2 ,for example,would be an excellent Smiling Man.

There is a "true" creepypasta about "The Smiling Man" AKA "Indrid Cold", but he's much weirder with a Joker-like smile and wide-set eyes. He is probably an alien. If he's real, which is unlikely.
