UK’s HMS Portland Equipped With Naval Strike Missiles (NSM)

HMS Portland Becomes Second Royal Navy Warship to be Equipped with Sea Strike Missiles.
According to information published by the UK Ministry of Defence on 17 December 2024, HMS Portland, a Type 23 warship based in Plymouth, has become the second Royal Navy warship to be equipped with Sea Strike Missiles (NSM), which are capable of neutralising enemy ships at ranges of more than 100 miles.
The development follows the successful integration of the system on HMS Somerset, with plans for all other Type 23 frigates and Type 45 destroyers of the Royal Navy to adopt the missile system soon.
