I will be moving to the Philippines to the Provence of Bulican. My wife and I have a house there. WE have land to grow vegetables. And would love to share from my garden with the people around me. My question is would you consider donating any seeds to our garden. If I hear from you I will send you my address. Thank you. I will be leaving in January of 2025.
ОтветитьMy Lowe’s has their seeds out in the hot area outside instead of in the air conditioning. They sit there all season in the heat and humidity. I’ve used just about every one on your list. I’m a seed hoarder and have three boxes full of seeds. I’m ready for the zombie apocalypse.
ОтветитьI've experienced something odd. As a first-time online seed buyer, I've noticed there's a bizarre amount of fraud. I was looking for creeping thyme seeds and encountered sellers scattered across Etsy and Amazon selling "blue" creeping thyme and they all use the same pictures. They usually have a suspiciously high number of 5 star reviews but the few 1 star reviews shout SCAM in all caps lol I'm now cautious about buying seeds online.
ОтветитьI want to plant 520 tree seeds a year for 5 years straight and then take care of the yltrees as they show up. All fruit and nut varieties that will grow in my climate of Western Colorado.
Growing Zone 5b, 6a, and 6b. There's about 15 varieties of fruit and nut trees for my zones.
Where can I acquire such amount of seeds? AI said the seeds will cost from $2 to $5 each! Ouch. That's crazy if true and I can't afford that! How can I get the seeds for maybe $100 to $150 a year? Thanks!
Strictly Medicinals!
ОтветитьBAKER CREEK BY FAR SUPERIOR SEEDS AND ALL HEIRLOOM! ❤ LOVE THEIR SEEDS!!! ❤️ SHOULD BE NUMBER 1!
ОтветитьWhat was number 3??? He skipped right over it
ОтветитьSneed's Feed and Seed
ОтветитьSorry that I wrote Burpee as GMO. I must have years ago thought they had been. But happy to for the correct information on their seeds.
ОтветитьJust because it says ORGANIC not necessarily GMO seeds.
ОтветитьBaker's heirloom seed CO. and Annie's Heirloom seed Co, have been a go to for me lately. They are expensive yes, but best quality of heirloom seeds.
Ответитьsmall garden farmers and people want to plant heirloom not organic GMO seeds, and seeds from Walmart, AG Supply stores market Montsano GMO Burpee seeds. Buying from Amish/Menonites directly from their farms are original generational heirloom seeds.
ОтветитьDavid’s Garden Seeds
ОтветитьHow do you get old American variety seed?
ОтветитьThat’s hilariously about Baker Creek!😂 I was just hiding the catalog under a book next to my chair😂
ОтветитьI love BCS,my fav. I get some of the weird stuff twice a year :)
ОтветитьI tried your seeds at SURVIVAL. Sad to say none grew. Call and left a detailed message. No call returned. All the bedt
ОтветитьI agree. I love MIGARDENER. I like that I can try new things in my Gardner with a $2 investment. And they have a very high germination rate. Mine are at about 95%.
Seeds are expensive overall but not there.
I've heard good things from Botanical Interest so I just ordered a nice selection to try...at $2.29- 2.69 ish.... again a great value.
I would love to try Johnny's but they are just too expensive at almost $5 or more
I found out after keeping a germination journal a few years ago that I have never had very good luck with Ferry Morse, but Burpee has been decent in my area. This year I chose to go to a local-ish feed store (about 30 miles away) where my friend gets hers for her farm. They had Baker Creek seeds! I couldn't help myself, and I bought several that were on clearance from last year and several others for this year. I look forward to planting them in a week or two after tonight's freeze. I also bought some of their bulk seeds to try. If it's good enough for the farmers who depend on them, it's good enough for me. Next year I want to try another local (regional) heirloom seed company from a farm about 45 minutes away--@Mary's Heirloom Seeds! It's too late to start tomato seeds for this year or I would try them now. I'm a seed-a-holic as well, so I have to be cautious and restrained when I go anywhere they sell seeds.
ОтветитьBut grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. 2 Peter 3:18 KJV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 KJV
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 KJV
One great seed company you didn't mention is Fedco. They are a very good source of seeds, fruit and other trees and bulbs. Mostly they are the best source for potatoes and other tubers.
ОтветитьSuggestion: Do NOT take the proceeds from your daughter's store and spend them on seeds for yourself. 🤣
Ответитьsometimes the best seeds are in the kitchen scraps.
i throw them in my backyard and they'll thrive on their own😂
Oh my gosh. Life is a long series of failures & then u die. .......
ОтветитьTerritorial is good seed for sure. Ed Hume is good too up here in the PNW.
ОтветитьI am just restarting gardening after being stuck in an apartment for 15 years. I know Mother used to buy Burpee and we had good luck with them.
I'm wondering if you have heard anything about Pinetree Garden Seeds? I have gotten their catalogs for several years while daydreaming about having another garden.
Also, could you recommend a good book on companion planting? I want to try that way of gardening because I am extremely sensitive to a lot of chemicals. At 72, I don't need anymore problems to deal with!
Thanks for any help and especially for your great YT channel!
---Norma Ryan 👍🏻👍🏻
😮
I use johnnyseed but also make my own seed that work exceptionally well !!
Flower vegetables herbs all very easy to save
Thanks for info I needed and was just thinking about .....and just stumbled upon your video answering my question I was "thinking " huh I wonder where I can sell my seed" 😳
Is AI reading my thoughts ¿lol
Yup Baker Creek
ОтветитьI love this video, bet the seed vault isvon your bucket list kek
ОтветитьI love Pinetree Seeds, Mary’s Heirloom seeds, NE seed, Annies Heirloom seeds, and the exchange in Seed Savers Exchange
Ответить“This is the Seed company that gets you in trouble” with the dramatic music had me rolling.
ОтветитьPlanted some of my Hoss Tool seeds yesterday. First time using soil blocks and getting started early.
ОтветитьYes, all of those (and needing addiction rehab here, too), plus Peaceful Valley, Seed Savers Exchange, and Strictly Medicinal. SO many good smaller options!!
ОтветитьWhen you started talking about No#3 I knew. When I go to the grocery store and I see seedless fruit, I think, "What's wrong with these people? Don't they know seeds are little miracles."
ОтветитьAaaaaaa love the bit about Baker Creek!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Dude y'all's videos have really been great lately. Thanks for posting so much thought into them.
ОтветитьBaker creek sold obviously gmo tomatoes
ОтветитьHas Anyone Mentioned Gurneys. I’m thinking of buying from them. Anyone know of Them
ОтветитьLove all the companies you mentioned, plus Botanical Interests.
Ответитьfedco, undoubtedly a bunch od old hippies up north, pinetree, also up north.
ОтветитьHey Dave!
I really like Eden Bros. Seeds. They are out of Brevard NC.
I’m about an hour south from there in Greenville SC, but I have had great success in the past with them!
I think Johnny's seeds has determined their target market to be the market farmer and have focused on hybrids for best yields with disease and pest resistance with minimal spraying
ОтветитьPine tree seed co
ОтветитьYour so right about that catalog!
ОтветитьALL SO TRUE!!!! Another good company is Jon Wittinger at VICTORY SEED. They are looking ahead at climate change and supplying lines of seed that will endure coming weather challenges.
ОтветитьLove the jazz in the backgrouns
Ответитьget organic seeds from wherever...and then save from your own harvest, cheapest, easiest, and BEST since it's always adapting to YOUR climate!
ОтветитьI stopped ordering from Baker Creek. Their seeds are just too expensive. Johnny's is also a no-go due to price.
ОтветитьMary's Select Seeds. I think is based in Texas. Always includes a free packet of seeds. Amazingly, in my last order the free seed was Yellow pear tomato which I really like. She is so helpful, also includes a sheet on how to plant the various types of veggie seeds. Website is very helpful as well. I highly recommend.
