'Although forest management has created the conditions for success' - nope. You haven't. You need to manage the deer. Plonking tree shelters on planted trees won't do it, especially with the degree of shading you have there. Natural regeneration would be better, but the deer have already bu99ered the seedlings you show us. You could fence an exclosure, but you don't mention that.

And then you show us a gap with 'bracken and soft grasses' 'where we have created conditions that are great for regeneration. but there isn't any'. Because conditions aren't great. Then you suggest that planting trees is the way to go and show us a tree in a half-height tree tube in an open grassland. And then you talk again about bracken and soft grasses whilst showing us another species of fern and mosses.

Poor stuff.
