Johnny Depp is reportedly interested in a £1.2 million UK bar owned by Paul Hollywood's fiance.🎉

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 59, is allegedly quite interested in the notion of purchasing the Chequers Inn. He just left Los Angeles for a quiet life in the English countryside.

The charming business is apparently being sold by Melissa Spalding, 38, who is engaged to The Great British Bake Off judge, 57. It is located in the village of Smarden.
The inn is 'just up [the] street' from Depp's $16.2 million Downton Abbey-style mansion, according to sources for The Sun, and he is 'a tremendous fan' of it.
Ralph Steadman, an illustrator and close friend who frequents pubs, apparently gave the Alice in Wonderland star some support.

According to a source, "Depp loves the pub and has done for years." Johnny has previously expressed his desire to purchase a pub and likes the heritage. It is smack dab in the middle of the English countryside.
The Chequers Inn is actually fairly 'posh,' serving expensive premium fare that has apparently turned off the locals despite its homey facade.

One disappointed customer told The Sun: 'It's not what village folk want. And it's got so dear in there now. 
'They've just got a new menu out which is a really top-notch posh menu – the likes of carrots done in charcoal, etcetera. They've hired a new chef and he brought his whole team with him.'
