Since they failed to show up in court to prove their lease was valid, that would mean they couldn't prove it. So, that means they broke into that house illegally and stole utility services. The police are supposed to arrest people for breaking into a house illegally, yes?
Perhaps this News Channel can ask the police what criminal charges can be filed. Clearly, those squatters know the can't survive a court's scrutiny.

Florida Sheriff's Office would have these people out by sundown and would even provide new accommodations in the county jail to anyone who resist.

That’s why my grandma said she leaving her stuff to me because soon as somebody die they want to sell what their parents worked so hard to pay off. It’s sad. I’m not selling my grandmothers home.

And no punishment for squatters. Ridiculous. Charges need to be filed. Supreme Court if necessary.

What about what happened to me in NJ at 1301 millstone River Rd they held my house hostage for 3 months and my mother hung herself bc of it and now I'm homeless. I just want my home back I was forced out. 6 squatters were paid bc people wanted to by my house so they tried to force me to committ suicide and my mom hung herself in the backyard and everyone blames me

The laws have to change to protect the homeowner and not the criminal. It takes too much time and money plus they are still paying a mortgage. If the squatters need a place to live put them in jail.

I just don't get why squatters have more rights than the homeowners. The homeowners have to go through hell to get rid of squators. Why can't they see that the squators lease is fake, as they are. They need to be arrested for breaking & entering, for starters. Just so wrong!😮

What is going on in Americans' head ??? Why is squatting became a sensational type of crime ?? Surely these squatters have complicits in order to squat on someone's house. Don't you think so ? My friend always spend six month a year in warm country. A friend just look after it once a week and pick up mails for her. No one tries to squat in the house.
