It looks like they're aiming to compete with the 400z? Similar design and segment.

It kind of has a retrofuturistic vibe to it but without the soullessness of the bulky EVs that try the same thing. Minimalist yet refined. I don't think it's a bad design at all. An engine, some turbos, mild hybridization; it could be a blast to drive too.

Hi Bembli, regarding the dip down and different thickness of the rear tail light, in my opinion it would make the car similar to a Dodge Charger (2016), I like the original lights of the Prelude better.

Hondas performance division deserves the engineering and passion that Hyundais N division gets.

1/2 Honda 9th gen si, 1/2 Porsche 911; slower than both. Why oh why can't Honda realize the mamoth hit they'd have if they came out with a Mustang class beater! Nothing less than 300 hp will due.

i bought my first prelude at 18 and at 21 i bought myself a second prelude im the 2nd owner had it since 99k miles and now just hit 151k, i loved these since i first saw one when i was 14… so i was exited when a new one was going to release until i found out it was electric… and the body is okay just wish it had a actual small wing like the 3rd 4th & 5th gens had… and then it only has 200 hp? why not bump it to 220-250 with a turbo? damn such a disappointment .. i will stick with my 2000 prelude that feels more raw and better to drive than this will .

Why so skeptical? Honda’s are pretty good at engineering. Civic Type R is pretty dialed. My only criticism is to get rid of these black wheels. I’m so sick of black wheels lol

I had a 98 SH. It was so fun to drive! I always felt it was underpowered though. Great car! But this, is is not a home run hit. The styling is weak. It doesn't look sporty or fast. Honda touts fuel economy not performance! It looks like a 2dr Accord. Its a heavy hybrid, so it won't be nimble. It doesn't sound like it'll outperform a Civic Type R either. This should be a gap between the Type R Civic and the NSX. Its supposed to be Prelude to a supercar. Fake car sounds too. Why buy this when the BRZ exists? I'm hearing a lot of Nissan noises like CVT transmission. And the styling looks like the new 350Z with its ugly rounded edges. I'm not seeing a reason for this car to exist.

Man. You're behind the times with car tech. Think Koenigsegg style Direct drive with 3 electric motors. This allows for Simulated shifting via CVT while also gaining the torque of an electric vehicle. Think Koenigsegg CC850

These manufacturers and the damn hybrid powertrains 🤦‍♂️ we as consumers need to start rejecting this trash

Lower trim- 2.0T from the 2022 accord sport 2.0T
Higher trim - Civic Type R 2.0T

I feel like they are gonna do a baby nsx, assuming they give it rear steering I can forgive the hybrid system, but it outside of that they was fine giving it the 1.5 turbo and 220+ horsepower

I think the problem is that people keep calling the Prelude a “sports car” when it was really never a sports car at any point in its life. A “sporty” FWD 2door 4 seat coupe is what it was. Eclipse, Celica, Prelude, non of them are sports cars. 3000GT, MR2, S2000 were sports cars.

This is the perfect opportunity to bring back the EG hatch. This short wheelbase with a real hatchback profile (not this liftback thing). Pair it with the port injected k series motor and a 6-speed. Sell it for cheap.
