i have cast iron kohler and sos pads make gray stains on mine .i use vinegar n baking soda and rub around n let sit a while
ОтветитьWe have found the following methods to work on our old (1940) porcelain sinks. For iron we use Bar Keepers friend. Super easy no hard scrubbing and it’s cheap. Magic eraser also works but a bit more costly. For stubborn stains we lightly dampen paper towels with bleach, lay them on the stained areas overnight. This always gets it back to brilliant white! Great video thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьThank you!!!!!!
ОтветитьIs there a cleaning solution in the magic eraser or is it just a type of sponge?
ОтветитьMy children thought I was crazy for saving their worn out toothbrushes, till they saw what I was using them for. I also use them when washing the car to get the cracks and crevasses around door handles, mirrors, badges, etc.
Ответитьhow about deep rust stains that go deep into the sink?
ОтветитьCLR has never worked for me. But magic eraser works wonders.
ОтветитьI have a 1920 Koehler that I need to get rust stains off.
I’ll try this.
I 💬 the magic eraser worked because the CLR was first scrubbed.
Ответитьoh wow.....valley brain..wow! 94 iq....wow!
ОтветитьAnother note is that if you have a later model DROP in sink, chances are the enamel quality is thinner and will need more intensive cleaning. I found this out with the rental in my sons house. The older the sink the better chances of a durable quality enamel. I had bought a bathtub from the 1930s that polished up beautifully after it was removed. It has more shine than the sink I cleaned in my sons house which was probably from the 1970s/1980s.
ОтветитьI prefer using abrasive side sponges AND AJAX cleanser with Bleach. You NEED bleach to clean stains. SOS has the soap BUT I prefer a bleach additive in a product that gets embedded stains out. I know SOS usually leaves a stainless mark on the enamel which I dont feeling like rescrubbing.
ОтветитьMine worse than that 60 yrs old
Ответитьi like the drain on the right side of the sink
ОтветитьI use An electric drill with a round brush attachment with soft scrub equals perfection!!!! Removes everything
ОтветитьSteel wool would seem to be a very aggressive abrasive to use on a porcelain surface. The surface does look nice after you completed the cleaning. How has it held up since a year ago or so since you posted this video? have the stains returned, especially the rust spots? did you consider re-glazing the surface?
ОтветитьPumie, ;D
ОтветитьDid not work for me 😢
ОтветитьI think we have the same sink XD mine use to be my Opas rental property he gave to me :p it has a lot of stains Im going to try this
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьWho let’s their sink that bad.??
ОтветитьThank you, it removed my hair color dye from my bathroom sink!
ОтветитьIt really works! I paused the video and went to the kitchen immediately. I’m shocked at how effective the magic eraser is. Thank you!
ОтветитьDe ce nu traduceți? Nu toți știm engleză.....asa ca mai bine nu mai dați.
ОтветитьBarkeeper's friend will work well with this sink. I use it for my old sink.
ОтветитьI will definitely be doing this at my new apartment
ОтветитьWow thank you for making this video! I have the same sink with rust stains & was thinking we might need to replace it. Definitely going to buy a magic eraser & try that. I've heard great things about those.
ОтветитьI’ve always used SOS Pads and Comet along with handy dandy toothbrushes and old fashioned elbow grease for cleaning sinks and bathtubs.
ОтветитьBoy I’d think that would rub porcelain off after while getting down to the metal. Know it’s a rental but still.
ОтветитьI've tried that CLR in the past and it DOES NOT WORK ! So thanks so much for this.
ОтветитьCan’t believe how those mr clean scrubs worked
ОтветитьI read do NOT use steal wool SOS pads after I tired to clean a spot in my sink and made a bigger spot. I see this worked for you maybe my sink is older and uses a different coating. Mine is 41 years old. Kohler makes a cleaner for this type of sink
ОтветитьBy far the easiest way to clean this is by using household laundry bleach. I just place a paper towel in the bottom of the sink, pour a tablespoon or so of bleach straight from the bottle onto the paper towel and then gently wipe it around. You should be very careful not to get the bleach on any clothes or towels as it will bleach spot materials. It works almost instantly. So to finish, I just gently but thoroughly rinse the sink to avoid ANY splashing so it doesn't get on my clothes. Thoroughly but gently rinse out the paper towel with water and then throw it in the trash. It is far easier and works far better than any other chemicals, pads, etc.
ОтветитьThank you. I'll get started on this tomorrow. Now the test for me is to have the same success with my similar sink and hope my wife suddenly decides we don't need to replace it! I really don't want to do that...and deal with all the rest of the mess that involves.
ОтветитьAwesome!!! Great job!!! Thank you for the tips, I will try that at home.
Ответитьthat is an amazing transformation
ОтветитьThanku please also make video to remove stain from carpet
ОтветитьThank you. Also, I shoot so I clean guns constantly and they made a hard bristle brass brush shaped like a tooth brush. Might work? And try naval jelly for the rust. Very benign.
ОтветитьUse vinegar in a bag with a rubber band on the faucet tip let it sit overnight. Be careful when using CLR. Wear a N95 mask and ventilate well. Read instructions you supposed to let it sit. Yes the end result was great but I was concerned for you.
