Au usual, a great thanks for your time for displaying extensively this motorshow, which - once again - demonstrate the Chinese high tech, amazing design their car industries offer nowadays. We expect more Chinese brands to com in the European markets and without doubt will highly compete with a damaged market. Some of these brands are absolutely attractive - Zeekr - Dena etc. My remaining favorite one remain Avatr - which won’t be on European market I believe . Nevertheless they know will need to prove dedicated long term service and reliability which because being new have not yet acquired. In any case, again and agin thank you for this reportage.

We have a Li L9 in the family, and its a really good car for long trips. I think Li makes some of the best looking vehicles in China, excluding the soap bar thingy.

I don't think that anyone can beat Chinese cars in terms of quality, price, design and once they start offering loans through their banks globally, they will change the world of finance and the environment 4 ever for the better. Good job China. ❤ It would be great if they could display prices at their exhibition's in various currency formats.

The Kia K3, the Buick GL8 and other petrol cheap cars are quite popular in rural areas. I live in a town with 900k pop, but no EV charging network. Lots of Kia and Hyndai cars here.

Just read that BYD sold 1432 cars in 7 months in germany this year. Others even less (if that is possible) That is a huge drop from last year. I wouldn't bet on chinese cars conquering Europe and USA. They look like they'r loosing that little ground thay have there.
What they sell in Australia and South America is their export. Which would be a desaster.

I've been a huge car fan since I was 3, I loved reading Car and Driver cover to cover every month. When Tesla started making waves it made what every other manufacturer was doing extremely boring, now the crazy development in china is starting to make me bored with Tesla.

Seeing as there are some rumors on HiPhi getting some investments to keep production going. Do you see a future where they are rescued?

Excellent report! You have very good knowledge of the cars you are showing us, unlike other motor show reporters where they have no ideas what they are showing us ,they just keep saying
"Very good" or "I like that" to virtually all the cars they see in the show without giving us more stats on them i.e. they didn't do any homework before going to the show. For instance I was watching a report on a motor show a few weeks ago, I think it was the Australia motor show, the report show us the Zeeker 001 FR and I think he has no idea that the car has more than 1200 bhp.


Chinese car markers should focus more on Handling. ie how their car drives, because I think this is the very few areas that they are a bit behind the Europeans & Tesla.

Hi Mark, love your review's. One remark, the range of a PHEV depend's on the km/liter AND the size of the fueltank. So the total range itself says nothing.

It's too bad we can't buy Chinese EVs in the US. I just paid $30,500 for a 2021 Honda CRV. Yep, that's just how expensive a used car is in the US.

Gotta hand it to the Chinese. They use all of the other brands designers for free. Probably engineers too.

The Chinese brands are coming thick and fast. I think the Euros, Japanese and Korean car makers, (and also Telsa), will be getting worried after watching this. It's impossible to compete on price with the Chinese, so they'll need to find another way. In saying this, the Chinese brands need some serious marketing now to make themselves more acceptable to the rest of the world. I saw BYD had sideline advertising at the Euro Cup, and Zeekr at the Diamond League athletics, but I feel this isn't enough to convince the masses. IMO something like the WRC, WEC or Dakar would do wonders for global brand recognition. People want to see actual cars competing with known brands on the same playing field.

What is your opinion on the rebranding of Jaguar ? Hit or miss ? Will it sell in China ? Will Jaguar end up using Chery's (JLR's local partner for China) platforms for new vehicles ?
