Great video and topic, Joe! I’m proud of you for exposing this issue. I spent 32 years as a Firefighter, and now run a large first responder peer and mental health organization. The simple act of TALKING will save, and improve someone’s life. The power of a conversation cannot be understated.
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьtake a note book and pencil and write. you need to say something you do not want to share write it down. this hit hard as i saw a co worker on a process ship jump. and despite trying once he hit the water i lost site of him. the worse part was i was about to do it myself.
ОтветитьDid you find the one piece?
ОтветитьHow do I take the exam, if I live in Fargo, ND. There is nowhere close to take the test?
ОтветитьWhat is your take on the dock strikes? You are related occupation
ОтветитьHi Joe! How is the port strike going to affect your line of work?
ОтветитьHey joe I love your videos im trying to get into merchant mariners academy and I appreciate your insightful format
ОтветитьThanks noe
ОтветитьGreat video Joe!! It opened my eyes, to a side of mariners one would never think of. It's good to know what's going on onboard a ship, with the guys and gals that have a very unusual job. All your video's Joe are so educational (well for me they are), because I've seen loads of ships sailing in and out of Vancouver, and often have wondered what's happening inside that ship. Keep up the good video work, as well as your ship jobs, and maybe you'll come to Vancouver, and put us in one of your video's. Hey, maybe we can connect, and you can give me a tour of your ship.
ОтветитьHi Joe, im a seafarer too💪👍
ОтветитьI could listen to you talk all day you voice is calming
ОтветитьYou r a good dude , great channel
ОтветитьI wonder how the captains be feeling maan
ОтветитьKeep going bro 💪🏽‼️
ОтветитьHonesty always seems to be the best approach. People can handle the truth better than deception
ОтветитьI got news when i was on my first ship as an os and i got news thay my best friend from the army comitted suicide. And no one knew anything on the ship. I was new to the ship so i didnt tell anybody. And i would hold back tears and work till i got to my room or go around the corner and cry it out. It was rough.
ОтветитьMy attitude on life, It is what it is . Another great video Mr. Joe
ОтветитьAre you ok brother not here nothing from ya n awhile on either channel hope to hear from ya soon n hope u n ur family are good
ОтветитьHey Joe I currently work in the towboat industry been in it a year now, I was hoping you could tell me how to get on a ship. I have my Merchant Marine license and USCG health certificate but I’m not sure what I need to do next. Do I need to go to the Union school in Maryland or what would you do.
ОтветитьWOW Joe, I appreciate your input. When did you get so smart? Lol
ОтветитьJoe i think you'd make a great mate, have you considered upgrading? I'm a current 3rd mate and I'd kill to have an AB like you who has there shit together
ОтветитьIs there any IT related jobs like network engineer or system administrator in cargo ship?
ОтветитьJoe I'm going to piney point in Feb,are cellphone allowed?
ОтветитьI’m a retired Navy sailor, I can definitely relate to all this!! It’s a hard life for sure !
ОтветитьEven though it may be related to the sponsorship of this video, it’s courageous for you to address the psychological stresses of the job, which I understand can be considerable.
ОтветитьHow do you get your shots and what equipment do you use?
Ответитьman up Franta... have a goal... long term plan you are there for the money.. crap existence on a ship i should know.. did 14 years.. no booze on us ships so smoke & count the days down.. cheers mucker
ОтветитьMr Fanta has left us.
ОтветитьI thrive in isolation, as long as people on the ship are kind i think i would get along great.
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьFantastic video.
ОтветитьI think young people are too thin skinned. This generation definitely worries too much about feelings . I don't understand young people and their depression. If you think you're depressed now wait till you get old LOL, and you have something to be depressed about.
ОтветитьI used to like to read when I was underway during my Navy days. It took my mind completely off whatever was going on onboard the ship.
Ответитьyo @joe franta, when is your next video? No pressure, Hope all is well!
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I really needed to see this.
I plan on staying in shape and running a Dungeons and Dragons game as a stress relief. I'm actually excited for the new lifestyle. I'm going to keep a positive attitude 24/7.
We all appreciate it man.
ОтветитьGlad you had this conversation with us, very informative. Stay heathy Joe, mind body and soul.
ОтветитьCan you do a video about how often you have to share a room? Can you stay on the same ship your whole career?
ОтветитьThank you Joe. Thank you Noe.
ОтветитьAleays look forward to your videos. 👍
ОтветитьI just also don't understand how you can live without girls man (or boys if your that way inclined). You must go nuts without your woman sleeping by your side, no?
ОтветитьRan across your videos about a week ago. I watched every one. You're so good at making them. I like Chief Makoi's videos also. Being a Seafarer sounds so cool. But it's not for everyone. Probably because I had a Family to take care of and didn't want to be away. I was a local Trucker so I was home every day. Now that I'm 78 and look back at all the opportunities I could have done, it's all in the rear view mirror. Keep up the good work...
ОтветитьThanks for this informative vid.
ОтветитьI was stationed on the USS ENTERPRISE and USS CARL VINSON in the 1980s and early 90s.
Those long Westpac tours could be brutal.
Excellent video. I worked with a filipino crew (and they are generally great shipmates and seafarers) and some of those guys stayed on the ship for 9 months and even more. We had a steward break down basically. He got dilusional and bit the chief mate at one point. Crazy what a long period at sea can do. I haven't seen much violence at sea, but if it happens, it will likely be a member of your own crew.
Ответить18 years working on sea. Understand you.
ОтветитьStarlink has been a game changer.
ОтветитьTrust me long-term jobs on lander off kick your ass in retirement
ОтветитьWell said. Thank you.
