Blessings and respect to Ms Claudette Colvin and Mrs Burch
Please do not discredit any pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement what was done was for purpose. A darker woman at that time may have not gotten much attention for the cause NAACP and the leaders of the movement had to use wisdom in getting the job done. Ms Margaret Burch is telling her truth story. What a great recollection so brave We still honor Rosa Parks for her role in standing up and being part of the movement in Montgomery. To the interview please don’t discredit anyone who came through this error❤

1. I cannot BELIEVE she was 91 in this video 😳. She looks GOOD! Like 70!!!
2. This interviewer is getting on my damn nerves, asking annoying ass questions. "were you on the bus?" SHE JUST SAID SHE WAS ON THE BUS. "Were the police officers white?" WTF ELSE THEY GONNA BE???

Unfortunately due to Ms. Colvin being 3 months pregnant by a married man 18 years her senior it was cause for concern that a scandal would cloud the activism.

"How is saying" "she ain't gotta do nothing but stay black and die" helpful?. Dark skinned female's still get treated the worst.2024. Claudette your neighbor how you not notice when she pregnant?. I'm glad she's not blaming Rosa Parks. Because Rosa Parks life still was hard at 80 plus years she had to fight off an intruder in the projects. A white man after hearing of this paid for her to move to a safer place and he paid her rent until she died.

This narrative is trash. Folks don’t talk about it being other women before Claudette that refused to give up their seat. Rosa was a trained organizer. She was there when Viola Taylor refused to give up her seat 10 years earlier than Claudette. Viola Taylor refused to give up her seat, so the Montgomery Police raped her daughter. Rosa didn’t want that to happen to the other 4 women that did sit ins before December. Rosa didn’t get a happy ending. She was forced to move to Detroit after nobody wanted to hire her.

We gotta kill this bitter ass narrative. Do you want the results or the glory?

Sounds like she’s chasing it on behalf of her friend.

And y’all at Comedy Hype need to stay in your lane. Analyze some jokes or something. Leave the history for those with actual scholarship.

Apparently Rosa Parks was a plant and rode a bunch of busses in the front before she found a bus driver that made the infamous scene they could sue over. Kinda like that gay couple that went to a whole bunch of cake shops trying to find one that wouldn't make their cake. Funny how history forgets how shit really went down. They remember the activists, but forget about the people who actually went through some shit.

I just watched a Rosa Parks movie and they flashed that news article of Claudette in the movie but it appeared as if she did it after Ms. Parks. And when they were planning the bus boycott and asked Ms. Parks to do it, which was confusing because she had already did it and was released from jail, they said that there were 3 others but they needed someone with a clean reputation. They mentioned a pregnant teenage girl, which now I know was Ms. Colvin. This interview is awesome! I love listening to the elders.

I respect Claudine story but she wasn't the first neither in Montgomery Nor in the us. Baton Rouge boycott happened 2 years before that. Probably were some people that refused to get off the bus before BR too. The job was done and done well.

Rosa Parks was a Mexican, and things hasnt changed since then. A black person does something and no one bats a mf eye. Another race portraying to be black does something and everyone praises them.
A black female rapper talks about real issues= no response, no deals, no clout
Cardi B is a Mexican yet look how quick she blew up

She didn't snatch the spotlight. Your friend was a 15 year old pregnant black girl in the 50s. It would have become more about her being pregnant and less about the cause. They did the right thing for the moment. In today's day and age, of course we would have supported her and stood behind her. But your generation and the one's before you would not have. Just accept the fact that she was a hero in her own right, but it wasn't meant for her to be a face of civil rights activism. And that could be a tough pill to swallow when your feelings are involved but objectively, NAACP did what was best.

Before any of this; the (1953) bus boycott took place in Baton Rouge Louisiana; this boycott was the blueprint for the Montgomery bus boycott. Dr. T.J. Jimmerson and other prominent ministries met with Dr.King and took their ideals back to Montgomery, that's when it became Nationally notorized. The bus boycott in Baton Rouge was so successful it nearly bankrupt the system within a week.

#1 I'm here to set the record straight 🤔NO that older Sista did not put her lips together and say that Rosa snatched the spot light 🤔 Yes both ladies actually one lady Rosa and the teenage girl Claudette at the time both protested about the bus situation.Rosa happened to to be a little older married with NO kids at the time and the group thought she would be better to protest 😉🙏🏾 where as Claudette was a 15 year old unmarried pregnant teen at the time with too much on her plate so to speak to protest about anything 🤔🙏🏾what l won't do is let ANYONE Black or White throw shade at Rosa🤨❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚😉
