Welcome to Podbaba Transport Heritage Series. We now move to mid-1995 through to 1997.
As we open on 30th May 1995, there is a problem at Fleetwood Ferry and all trams are having to set back at Victoria Street, something that can no longer happen due to the sealing up of the crossover on the new Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramway following protests about the noise that the new Bombardier Flexity 2s make going over the sprung points. In reality they make much more noise now as the points have become damaged.
Here we see 720, 621 (prepared for an allover advert),704, 642, 709 and others using the crossover to keep the service going on a busy Fleetwood Market day. When we get round to the Ferry, we find 708 with a smashed pantograph.

Later on, this time on 25th June, we see 762 towing 716 back to depot and then 633 used to order the cars in the right place and allow 762 back into traffic.
621 becomes an Interflora allover advert.
680 becomes an allover advert for Scruffy Murphy’s Irish bar.
630 and 647 are seen in the bodyshop.
We see 711 out in traffic having been rebuilt similar to 723 with 24v electrics and halogen lighting.
762 gains a revised version of the 1990s livery with black window surrounds.
We then find 647 in the paintshop being prepared for an allover advert.
631 is seen alongside 700 in the bodyshop.
679 gains an allover advert for Seagull Coaches excursions.
637 receives a revised allover advert for Yates’ Wine Lodges.
636 finally receives 1990s livery only to have Jellies Night Spot advertising superimposed on it.
703 is repainted into wartime livery and regains a trolley.
We see railgrinder 752 in the depot.
647 emerges into traffic with an allover advert for the Coronation Street Experience at whose launch, actors William Roach (Ken Barlow) and Barbara Knox (Rita Tanner) get the chance to drive the tram.
Fisherman’s Walk opens.
During the illuminations, 736 gains new advertising for the Rigby League Centenary.
Finally, on 4th November 1995, the last day of the season, 630 emerges in 1990s livery rebuilt with 24v electrics and halogen headlights.
We move into 1996…..
719 emerges from a full and different rebuild as the Walls Ice Cream Parlour tram, serving Walls Ice Creams from a counter at one end.
621 becomes all over advert for the Family Pub.
630 gains Travelcard adverts on its trolley tower.
648 loses Fleetwood Market advertising in favour of Freeport/Farmer Parrs.
703 loses its troublesome trolley and gets a pantograph.
634 carries a terror Tram allover advert.
607 becomes an allover advert for Travelcard
736 carries advertising for band “The Beautiful South”.

And finally, into 1997…..
643 becomes an allover advert for RAF careers
761 becomes a yellow allover advert for Cresta in Cleveleys
700 emerges after a full heritage rebuild with twin destination blinds and wartime green livery.
642 becomes an allover advert for Funny Girls Burlesque Showbar.
622 gains an allover advert for Allinsons Bread.
641 gains a full allover advert for PRICEBUSTERS.
We take a ride on 673-683, the only original Progress Twincar that has not been repanelled and butchered over the years since 1961 when it first appeared.
