ОтветитьYou really should start to pre boil/wash your pork. So much better for appearance and taste. 5/10 minutes is all that is needed from cold, rinse and then carry on with the process.

ОтветитьHave tired this a few times would definitely reduce the amount of time you have the pork in the first pan for. 1.45 hours is enough to prevent it from just falling apart.

ОтветитьMy tip- after boiling dry, then immediately chopped and fry in smalll batches whilst its still hot to ensure every bit is fully brown and crispy. Then either put all back in with sauce, or, ifbyoure doing for later, leave to cool and warm up later for a few mins in a frying pan till piping hot and add sauce then.
But got to get every bit crispy first for me!

I followed your recipe to a T and the 3tbs of dark soy sauce literally turned my food black… I should of trusted my gut and used a dash of dark soy sauce with 2 tbs regular soy sauce 😩

ОтветитьMade roasted pork belly loads of time - but simmering for 2 hours? When we're paying £££ for energy? Crazy recipe and needless waste of resources. Throw it in the air fryer for 30 mins, brush with a mixed paste of honey, mustard, tomato puree, garlic, paprika and white pepper. Job done for a fraction of the cost.

ОтветитьHi Nicky. Barbequed spare ribs in some Chinese restaurants use a combination of brown sugar, honey and other spices similar to your recipe. It's addictive and wonderful. It is also my favourite of all time.. I personally call it 'a taste from heaven'.
