The Winged Ones Were Always Watching

I don’t know how to explain this…

In the attic of an old boarding school in Andover, a box was discovered behind the wall during renovations. Inside were dozens of tiny clay figures, each no taller than a thumb. Most were broken. But one… one had wings.

Not carved — real wings. Preserved. Bound with thread and tied tight to the figure’s neck like a leash. The eyes were hollow. The mouth too perfect. And no one could explain how the figure felt warm to the touch despite the cold wood floor.

The builders sealed the attic again. But people say ever since, moths swarm the windows on still nights. And a faint tapping echoes from the ceiling — like something small, trying to remember the shape of flight.
