I have a reborn doll for therapy purposes because I still have trauma from an abusive past (abusive father who treated me poorly because he didn't take the time to understand my disability) when I was 19, I was forced to get a tubal ligation because my dad thought I was "too disabled" to have children. He also told me to keep this a secret from my mom and her family (parents are divorced and do not get along) I did that for two years (surgery happened in 2008) then in 2010, I couldn't handle the guilt of keeping that secret. I had to tell my mom. So I did...and as expected she was upset. But not at me. She was upset at my Dad for making that decision for me.
I am 31 now. I don't have a husband or boyfriend (didn't back then either which made that surgery even more cruel and unnecessary...Although, on a lighter note, if Jungkook from BTS wants to fill that position, I'd happily accept! 🤣 kidding ) I now have very limited contact with my Dad (who recently moved out of state) which I think is best for my mental wellbeing.

I couldn't give a rat's booty what people think of me when I'm out with Hazel! I've heard worse in my lifetime and I don't need the negativity.
As far as I'm concerned, I'm blessed to have Hazel.

Good for you! Maturity is knowing when you ARE ready for something and when you’re NOT. I love making reborns. It combines two things I love, babies and art. People are so weird about it though. I mean some men collect GI Joes , but I’ve never heard anyone tell them they should just buy their own aircraft carrier 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I have always loved dolls. I collect all types of dolls also. I am a mother of 4 and 2 of my children are adults. I will never change who I am. I will never stop playing with dolls. I’m so glad I have a younger child to play with me🙂 People are so cruel. I don’t care what anyone thinks about me playing or collecting dolls. I think it’s awesome when someone understands they don’t need to be a parent or it’s not the right time. I see so many people that definitely don’t need to be parents lol.. Infertility here, but with crippling baby fever on top.
Even glimpsing a FB post of someone's newborn would sentence me to at least a week of just a black depression with fits of crying throughout. And forget family get-togethers.

Since discovering reborns a void in my life has been filled and I'm infinitely grateful to the artists who make them despite the stigma.
Personal reasons aside, it's just a really neat craft!
Some artists create for the ear, some for the eye. Reborn artists create art for the heart.

Since getting my little Birdie (a Kelsey kit, those cheeks!), I've really been putting myself out there and trying to normalize it.
I brought her to work with me one day, having no idea what I was in for. To my surprise the reactions from my coworkers were mostly positive.
I got a lot of "She looks so real!" and "I had no idea they made these".
And when no one else was in the room, more than a few women whispered to me, "Where can I get one?".
A group of older ladies were absolutely fawning over her like she was a real newborn. That felt so good to me.
A couple men were a bit snarky about it and one called me weird.
This gave me the opportunity to say that if it's ok, even celebrated, for grown men to still play soldier (video games), then it should be perfectly fine for grown women to still play with dolls.
After all, a big argument against reborns is that they're 'creepy'. But what else commonly fits into Uncanny Valley territory? Video game characters.
One lady, to her credit, very gently asked me why a person would want a lifelike baby doll. I told her, "Any reason at all that someone would want to snuggle a newborn!"

I carry her around my house all the time when I'm here, and miss her when I'm gone.
I keep her carseat and stroller in my car and go for beautiful Sunday walks through the park.
I strap her to myself in a baby bjorn and go grocery shopping.

I'm just your average person.
The more people see that we're not just crazies, the more awareness raised about this hobby, the more people will feel comfortable getting into it if they think it's something they'd enjoy.
Then it won't be such a shocking, niche thing and the reasons won't matter.

I have a reborn and she brings me comfort. I love babies but I'm too young to have any rn. My family thinks it's creepy and weird for me an older teen to have a doll, especially one that looks realistic. There have been so many times where I want to bring my doll somewhere but I don't cause I fear of judgement from my family. I can't even hold my doll outside of my room without getting scared one of my family members will see. They don't really say anything to me about the doll anymore but I still get worried. One time when I first got my reborn I brought it to one of my family members houses and my older brother and sister took my doll and hid it and then laughed at me when I got upset. I wanted to cry. And some of her paint came off from I believe how she was mishandled by them.

In only young and I have dolls to help with my anxiety and you help me feel good about it. I love you. Thank you Love. 💖💓💗💝💘

Why are you spending so much time thinking about this?? Ok you have said your piece, now throw it behind you and dont ever again give these clueless people another second of your valuable time, and continue to enjoy your life! There is absolutely nothing wrong with you dear, there are thousands of people just like you I am one! I raise 2 kids and have 5 grown grandkids and just miss having babies around! That's my story!!! I lost my baby. Stillborn. My doctor suggested to get a full body silicone baby because of the loss and because I had to have a hysterectomy. My husband is also fixed. Our silicone baby is perfect for us. We love her and take her everywhere. Most ppl think she’s real. No shame in our game. ❤️

I am 68 years old and I love my doll . and i do not care what some one says I am happy with then .`they need to get a live. be happy and do not care what some one say. do not show what they want to see and that is to hurry you.

it IS none of their business. I had two beautiful boys, they grew up, both were deployed to Afghanistan 3 tours, now they moved away, I loved being a mom, but you are so right, it is a HUGE responsibility, a child is not a toy that you can put away or walk away from when you are tired, or sick. YOU HAVE TO take care of them first. You are responsible for their well being and the kind of human they become. Obviously the people who ask these invasive questions were not raised by people who cared what kind of people they grew up to be.

I am not young any more, I can not take care of a baby, I do love children and I love the freedom to put my doll down in the crib and not have to take care of her when I am in a lot of pain from my spine, or my neuropathy in my hands. I could not take care of a baby any more, but it is STILL MY BUSINESS, I am making my own dolls, these people are NOT paying your bills and they are not your family, to ask such personal questions. I totally get women of all ages having and collecting these beautiful art pieces. Dressing them up and role playing.

There are many women with alzheimers and dementia who own these dolls for comfort, there are people who buy them for teen girls with autism, these dolls have many functions and they are all beneficial. Why don't these rude, insensitive people go after perverts who hurt children, instead of attacking women who are not hurting anyone just having some fun and a healthy hobby? Just enjoy and have fun :) I am.

Your fertility and/or choice to not have a child is no one’s business. I also can’t believe how expensive it is to have a baby in the US. I’d have had my son repossessed if it wasn’t free to have him, lol, so his American father lives here, and it has been the right thing for him too because of his poor health as he ages. We could never afford to be parents in the US. And as for your age, 26 is still very young. I think people do wonder about the psyche of some people who go out with their dolls like they are real children, but it’s really rude to extend that curiosity into a Q&A with the person with the doll. Maybe it’s because I’m Canadian, but I would never DREAM of approaching someone with a doll in a carriage and start quizzing them (but I’ve also never asked any rock stars I’ve met for autographs 😂). I've known that I wanted a kid for a long time since I was a kid but due to my cerebral palsy I wasn't sure that I could have one and now that I'm an adult I'm not sure I have the resources to be able to care for a child and I haven't found a husband yet. Therefore I am thinking about getting a reborn.

My wife gets that too my wife can't carry babies in pregnancy & people are so flipping ingorantance to her my wife has mild disabilities & Autism & severe Anxiety so its really hurt her & cause her to have Panic Attacks when out so shes won't go out on her own only with support worker they alot of ingorantance people judging people with disabilities & Autism with reborns by the way my wife "reborn" daughter (which we call her) name is Aurora Fay Hill people need to wake up & get a life coz she's wouldn't change for no one shes happy that what counts & my wife loves your videos Lamby lol

I have 6 reborns myself. I collect them because they help me tremendously with my mental health. I'm also in an LDR and we aren't ready for kids until we close the distance (which will be in about 6 months or less) so my babies help me out. There are so many other reasons but those are the top two reasons. Never feel like you have to explain yourself. I'm glad you made this video tho 💕

I'm 62 and I always loved dolls and I all ways wanted a silicone and vinyl doll so for mother's day my daughter bought me one off of Amazon and I just love her I dress her up all the time I even take her out an go into the store I collect them I also use my doll as a therapy doll for my anxiety and if people think that's weird that's okay don't you listen to him you do what you like to do what you love to do I love dolls I collect dolls and I just love dolls so don't you listen to them people I don't care what they say about me

I don't like when people ask me why don't I just have a real child and I answer with them by saying I actually have 9 children and 8 are boys and one is a girl but I just wanted another baby girl but after my last one my doctor advised me not to have another baby I also wanted a baby that will never grow up and it makes me happy plus I am not hurting anyone my husband always tells me "if it makes you happy don't mind if someone says something they don't know you or your circumstances." All I want to say is I love your channel and seeing all your beautiful babies so please keep spreading positivity😊
