Very helpful. Thanks for your answers. I think the question about the 'third temple' and especially the passages in Ezekiel you couldn't get into tonight would make a great future video. But then again, I wouldn't blame you if you're avoiding getting deep into escatology on this channel.

I reached out to Jeff Durbin about a year-ish ago and asked him if he had any teaching addressing the HRM and he replied pretty much right away and linked me to his radio show where he talks about his exchange with Messiah Matters. Otherwise, there ARE a few really good sermons from a couple years ago regarding the law of God where Jeff specifically addresses why we don’t keep CERTAIN laws. I can link those if anyone is interested. But, yes, he does not address the HRM specifically at all other than with Messiah Matters. And yes, Torah people tend to like Jeff Durbin because he talks about “the law of God” so much and he uses words like “Yahweh”, “Torah” and “Tanak” (not sure if I spelled that right). And Torah people tend to like Calvinists.
I will say, too, when it comes to Rob and Caleb, I do respect their honesty and research (instead of believing urban legends) on the issue of Christmas and Easter.

Isn't chrismas polluted with idols? Celebrated covetousness is the fruit of flesh, not the fruit of the spirit.

I know I keep hitting this point but my appointment is scheduled a month from now so the clock is ticking LOL . Genesis 17 clearly states " my covenant (agreement) will be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant." We are the seeds of Abraham we are in this covenant . How is there any way around this ?

Hi Andrew, I came here from Messiah Matters. I enjoyed your discussion with Caleb. I am Law Observant, Trinitarian and affirm the doctrines of Grace as well. I understand where we differ clearly. I am looking forward to the content you put out. The Hebrew Roots movement is very dangerous and I think that there needs to be a firm line drawn between those who keep the Law and those who teach that it is Salvific.

Hi Andrew, I appreciate your approach to this video and also came here from Messiah Matters as another commenter noted. I don't have the same background to them, but I'd put myself in a similar boat to the other commenter and have the same concerns about the Hebrew Roots movement which Messiah Matters has made clear that they do not agree with. You did a great job showing the reasons each side is arguing what they are arguing in your video. I also appreciated your generosity to give Durbin grace in that we don't necessarily know what he meant by "erecting dietary restrictions" and anything in the Old Testament that was pointing towards Jesus as "big H heresy", but I also find his statement to be reckless in how broad he made it.

I know this is a couple years after when you posted this video but thought it was worth bringing up in case you see it. I do not think that Caleb was referencing the word "abomination" from Leviticus 11 as you had concluded but rather referencing it from Deuteronomy 14:3. I'm not going to claim to know any Hebrew, but through the interlinear Bible on Bible Hub's app, the word used for "abomination" (word used in ESV and KJV) in this verse is towebah (16 occurrences of this specifically - not sure if correct phonetic spelling) and seems to correspond with Strong's Hebrew 8441 which has 117 occurences. This same word is used in Genesis 43:32 (eating with Hebrews was an abomination to Egyptions), Leviticus 18:22 (unlawful relations), Leviticus 20:13 (unlawful relations), Deuteronomy 7:26 (bringing an item devoted to destruction into your home), as well as 12 other places. You're likely much more knowledgeable than me in this area, but I think it's worth noting that this doesn't seem to only be connected with animals and food when taking the word used in Deuteronomy 14:3 for "abomination" into account in regarding food/kosher laws. Multiple commentaries I have found on this verse came to the conclusion that "any abomination" in this verse was referring to the unclean animals later described in the chapter.

Not trying to argue one way or another, but it may bring some clarity to the argument that you made. Interested to see your thoughts on this because I think it does bring things into at least a slightly different perspective than is portrayed in your video when you were basing your thoughts off of the use of "abomination" found in Leviticus 11.
