To be honest I don't usually comment on post buy I just want to say that the churches of today are not the churches of yesteryear.

A comment here referring to 1 Corinthians 2:14 got me thinking.

Two Bible verses that even the natural man, including one in Barbados, can understand are as follows:

Firstly, James 1:26 reads, "If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless."

Secondly, the apostle Paul himself said in 1 Corinthians 14:18, "I thank God that I speak in [unknown] tongues more than all of you; 19 nevertheless, in public worship I would rather say five understandable words in order to instruct others, than ten thousand words in a tongue [which others cannot understand]. ...23So then, if the whole church gathers together and all of you speak in [unknown] tongues, and outsiders or those who are not gifted [in spiritual matters] or unbelievers come in, will they not say that you are out of your mind?"

Scriptures verses, plain as day.

Regarding the young man, now if you threaten me with "surrender to me" (note that the Word of God says, Submit to God, resist the devil ...) or get carried out dead because you will kill me, and I feel vulnerable and defenseless, then of course, I will say anything you want.

My prayer is that the young man will indeed meet the Jesus who delivered the woman caught in adultery.  “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Now go and sin no more.” (John 8:11)

The Jesus who had earlier delivered the paralytic man. John 5:14Afterward, Jesus found the man at the temple and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Stop sinning, or something worse may happen to you.”

Or the Jesus on the cross at Calvary. Luke 23:40 But the other one rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, since you are under the same judgment? 41We are punished justly, for we are receiving what our actions deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.” 42Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”

43And Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

Just remember that Jesus received those three and other ordinary folk with compassion and forgiveness, but he kept his wrath and condemnation for the religious leaders of the day. May God have mercy on us all.

Placing this here - people need to remember that divine authority has to be rooted in the scripture!!

Good Order in Worship

26 What then shall we say, brothers and sisters? When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up. 27 If anyone speaks in a tongue, two—or at the most three—should speak, one at a time, and someone must interpret. 28 If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.

29 Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said. 30 And if a revelation comes to someone who is sitting down, the first speaker should stop. 31 For you can all prophesy in turn so that everyone may be instructed and encouraged. 32 The spirits of prophets are subject to the control of prophets. 33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace—as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people.

IN SUMMARY. Paul. advises orderly prophesying and interpretation of speaking in tongues so that spiritual gifts offer encouragement and instruction to those present rather than providing a way for the Corinthians to show off among themselves or in the presence of unbelievers.

I hope this helps the confused Christian fanatics to work towards a Deeper understanding of the “WORD”.
