Carven Vétiver vs Guerlain Vetiver.

As previously mentioned, my favorite is Le Vetiver because it is molder in the image of the original 1958 Carven Vetiver...whereas Carven Vetiver doesn't have the bright citrus tones, but it's still nice. As for this Carven Vetiver (aka Carven Vetiver 2014)...first, come on Carven, can't you find a better name for perfumes? Does every iteration of Carven Vetiver need to be called Carven Vetiver? How silly! LOL!!!

Anyway, I love Carven Vetiver 2014, but it has a prominent lemongrass accord (which I'm fine with) but can be unsettling for those folks who doesn't like the smell of lemongrass in fragrance. So this is definite a try before you buy. As for Guerlain Vetiver, there is no Wow! factor to this one, but it's a solid, universally liked, Spring/Summer daytime scent perfect for a regular Joe or a successful gentleman. Buy both if you love vetiver scents, and sniff 'em both if you're only looking to keep one from this genre in your scent armory.

I have Guerlain's Vetiver . I picked up a tester of it for $28.
I like , a lot.
Will take a look at Carven's Vetiver.

I was really looking forward to this review. I own a bottle of Guerlain Vetiver and I love it -- I love all of the classic Guerlains in the "Listerine" bottles. After your review, I definitely want a bottle of Carven Vetiver. Sounds like a 🏆 winner.

Which one has better performance?
I really like Guerlain Vetiver. It has great longevity, but subtle and stays close to the skin. I just wish it projected more for me.

Guerlain Vetiver was launched in 1959- so just 2 years apart 1957 Carven Vetiver!

VERY GOOD INFORMATION.

I was born in 1957. I remember my father splashing some Carven' s vetiver every time he shaved. Perfumes didn't have atomizers, like they have today, and the bottle was a lot prettier than this boring green paint presentation. I think the juice inside deserves a better representation. I don't have a vetiver based fragrance in my collection, not yet. But I am planning to get one soon. Like you said, it is difficult to decide, so maybe I will end up buying both.
