Royal Water, used to disolve gold and a few other metals. HDD can be wiped using software, I prefer those that meet DOD standereds. Testers are available for the PSU, If you are going to purchse one then test it before install or modification. The economy is always changing just ask a stock broker. Hopefully a working system has a higher value then the parts it is made of, wipe the drive before installing the OS variant of chose. Support OpenSource and Save the buzz!
ОтветитьGREAT VIDEO.......I like the music at the start and the end.....
ОтветитьThank you...This is a new feature I have added to my video's...
ОтветитьYa, the community is small here. I'd guess they're inside of the dumpsters. I'm not much of a dumpster diver and I'd guess a small community like this would be interested in giving away the fines that apply if someone saw me. I just stick to what I can grab in about a minute so no one has anything to complain about unless its big. If its big, I get the trailer.
ОтветитьMike, It doesn't do any good to use a wrist strap over you rubber gloves. Use either the gloves OR the strap.
Ответитьawesome information, thank you! and subbed (:
ОтветитьThat's part of the video....I scrap all things working or not...
Ответитьi think 8 mnts was to much to just show us how to open a pc wer is the money??no one want to have a floppy drive mike thnx
ОтветитьI noticed there were no sound or video cards in that computer
ОтветитьAre the ebay prices you quote asking prices or actual selling prices?
ОтветитьThose are selling prices...
ОтветитьIf this is true than no one would throw away their pc's. Those stupid enough to do so would cause lots of fights and bickering in society.
Ответитьno one wants to deal with a old piece of technology. I have stripped hundreds of computers, that people give me. They do not care for the little amount of precious metals in them.
ОтветитьWe get much better scrap prices here (dallas/ft.worth). Tower, cds, floppys get $ .10 lb.(tin price), but I get much higher on other stuff. $8.00lb on ram, $1.50 to $3.50 lb on mother boards, $1.00 lb hard drives and $1.50 lb on power supplys.
ОтветитьYes there are parts in the towers you can resell. Especially if you are getting them for nothing or real cheap. I don't know if you'll sell the power buttons and stuff like that but the HDisk, RAM, DVD burners and some of the other stuff will sell.
Ответитьya. just touch a plugged in and running machine to discharge yourself. you're good..
Ответитьall these parts are worthless... lol
ОтветитьAt first I did not understand why you used the static wrist strap (for scrapping) until the end of the video (reselling the parts on ebay for working components) Thanks for your time and making these videos.
ОтветитьLove these ideas and would have never known otherwise. Ty
Ответитьthese prices on ebay would not fly in the UK ? old video
ОтветитьI love yor videos, Mike.
Ответитьmusic?
ОтветитьWow people on ebay are actually buying some of those junk parts. Really old stuff I never would have thought... Floppy drives for example seem to be rather popular. Why would so many people want to use floppies these days........? YUK! :~)
ОтветитьI really loved those old,Walking the railroad track blues. Your vids are great and the music is radical Buck
Ответитьthe gloves your wearing are building up static and that wrist band wont work on the nitrile. also looks like your working on nylon.
ОтветитьI didn't realize that people were still buying Floppy drives and modems!
ОтветитьCool vids Mike. Was wondering though. Couldn't you just sell the entire system for 200. 00 ?
ОтветитьTAKE OUT not take apart, choose your wording better next time
ОтветитьCool vid, I got a 4450 sitting right behind me. Ready to be disassembled for selling or scrap.
ОтветитьI have a 4600 in my room
Ответитьplease tell me you sold them on ebay...they were in good condition to be scrapped ;)
ОтветитьCurious to know how much of this actually sold on ebay for the prices you listed in the video.
ОтветитьWow... Computers Back Then Are Cheep!
ОтветитьWhat kind of gloves do you use when working? I need to get a pair.
Ответить10;01 would have been a great photo
ОтветитьThese prices must be from eBay in a parallel universe because I've never seen DVD or Floppy drives selling for those amounts....or anything else that was listed, actually. $11 Heatsink? I must have a few hundreds dollars worth now if that's the case. But I do like your videos, Mike. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьThanks, Mike. I wasn't being negative....although now it kind of looks like that to me! Wishful, if anything...I wish we could all make half the prices we hear about on eBay. I'd make a killing on powers supplies. I scrap all my stuff too! Because when gold and silver goes up, or even ten years down the road, we'll be sitting pretty.
ОтветитьI have YET TO GROUND MYSELF !!!!
ОтветитьYou realize that COA can be sold too well not legally but still can be sold for good $
ОтветитьPeople may put these bits on ebay hoping to get these prices but you just acn't shift them - noone wants them. Who wants a floppy drive bracket from a Dell 4400 when they all came with one anyway and 'nobody' uses this computer anymore let alone floppies?
ОтветитьYo Mike do you make more money scaping the mother board all alumiun and copper of the board
Ответитьwhat kind of gloves are you wearing and does it matter what gloves you wear?
ОтветитьIs the atx case without hard drive worth $50-$60 used by keeping everything in the Tower. I know some folks mod cases or re build with new mother board etc.
ОтветитьWhat about all those tiny tiny screws? I scrap for art & don't sell (probably should if things are so high, but I just recycle or take to scrap yard what I don't use, as I don't have time to eBay it), but those little screws, does anyone pay for them? They are so cute. I keep them in empty pill bottles somewhat organized by size...still can't find a project for them, less a little mouse that wants some nice jewelry. 😆
ОтветитьThanks for sharing this information very informative.
ОтветитьHELLOOO FROM THE FUTURE.
ОтветитьThis was bunk, all that stuff was only fit for gold extraction.
ОтветитьWhy so safety? Lol
ОтветитьThis is a good example of how to deconstruct a pc, but your prices are WAY out of date.....
Ответить
