Wow, an AI can narrate with more personality than this guy.
Ответить😭😭😭😞😞😞
ОтветитьWas not nearly as bad as what I was prepared for after reading these comments. I didn't gag or choke or have a bloody nose. I don't know how to describe, but I tried to just get in a zone where I wasn't thinking about anything at all. I found a little light to focus on and tried to breath steady. I felt lucky that I tolerated it well. I also had a good nurse. The lidocaine and throat spray probably helped.
ОтветитьI'll do anything in the world but this procedure.
ОтветитьI live in Watford UK and having this done right now. I’m nervous that’s for sure but it has to be done
ОтветитьRed Hot Chilly Peppers: Snow.
I have one of these test in my near future...
Thanks for this informative video. Just a word of advice - dont mix the music so loud - it's hard to hear the dialogue, and it's very distracting. Also background music is better with minimal or no melody at all (ie just chord progressions - think spa music). When selecting a background track, select it based on the mood you want to induce in the audience. This music was not exactly calming and relaxing (to put it mildly). Try picking some music from a lounge or spa playlist next time. It's good at relaxing people.
Ответитьwhoever decided to put this song over the video should visit the moon and stay there.
ОтветитьThis scares the shit out of me lol
ОтветитьI wish mine went that well!
ОтветитьI had a failed test. The catheter just kept coiling in my throat and the second try the doctors said it was like a brick wall that it wouldn’t go back in. Never again will I ever do this test.
ОтветитьI had mine put in yesterday and i have to take it out myself today then drop the equipment off 😮
ОтветитьI have to gave mine done tomorrow morning and I am so nervous. I will be staying at a hotel close to the hospital instead of driving 2 1/2 hours back home and then back down the next morning. I want to be close to the hospital just incase and to make me feel better. This video really made me feel better before I get it done. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьCan anyone tell me if their test was worth it? Is it as valuable as they say? I had mine last week and I've got to wait 4 to 6 weeks for the results. I found it unpleasant but not as bad as the endoscopy.
ОтветитьI had mine done yesterday. The first part wasn't too bad. Just seat upright close your eyes and just folow nurse advice . You will be fine trust me. No need to panic, it's not that bad.
The second part was bit too much for me but I manage for 24hr. Not a pleasant procedure, especially, to have a tube for 24hr but the best way to do distract yourself, eg. have family or friends around or go to cinema.
If I did you can do it too. Keep telling to yourself it's for your own good so you can get to the button of the issue . Best of luck
I had this done today (and currently have the 24 hour acid reflux test tube inserted too). I should point out, I have a terrible gag reflex. I gag even just brushing my teeth, dentists x-rays are torture. I've even had a dentist procedure abandoned because of gagging (thankfully they hadn't really started). I also have an absolute hatred for vomiting and a fear of choking (especially because food sometimes gets lodged in my esophagus. I was freaking out before this test, and had convinced myself that I couldn't do it. I was gagging even just thinking about it the night before. I have to say, it is NOWHERE NEAR as bad as people in the comments are making out. I had the numbing spray up my nostril and into my throat. The part I was dreading was when it was going down my throat because my gag is so bad. The nurse asked me just to continuously sip water like I was really thirsty and she was even saying "this is the worst part", but I actually didn't feel anything at all. The water sipping works wonders - I was super skeptical about that. Now the whole thing was definitely uncomfortable and unpleasant. I did dry wretch once about three quarters of the way through because I felt the end of the cable was moving around slightly. The feeling was worse sitting up rather than lying back. I would not be rushing back to have this done again, it's super uncomfortable, but it's also very doable. It only lasts 10-15 mins. Not 40mins like advertised in some leaflets. The 24 hour tube is so easy in comparison. It literally feels like hardly anything. Don't get me wrong, I am looking forward to taking it out, but it only feels like a tickle from something tiny stuck in my throat.
ОтветитьJust got mine removed and it’s the worst 24h of my life. Inserting the tube was ok but once you leave the pain starts on the throat and eating is painful plus the gags that come and go . But the worst part was not taking ppi for 7 days I have been taking this medicine for many years and cutting it was hard I did a lot of damage to my inside everything burn and doesn’t mater what I eat everything gives me Gerd. As a hold worst test of my life
ОтветитьOh my goodness so glad I found this one. My anxiety is sky high for upcoming test.

ОтветитьTwo medical assistants did this test with me. The insertion of the tubes was quick and slightly uncomfortable but no pain. Maybe because they first put some lidocaine in my nose. I did not gag or felt nauseous. However, the tube was taped to the side of my nose instead of the tip of the nose. Due to the stiffness of the tube, it created a pressure sore spot on my nasal passage. And when I swallow, the tube would be pulled in slightly and momentarily, which aggravated the sore spot. I kept moving the taped point slightly (1mm) in different directions every few hours to reduce the tenderness and was only somewhat successful. Pushing the nose in different direction offer temporarily relief. Obviously I wasn't able to do any of these while I sleep. I believe taping it to the tip of the nose and then to the side, like shown in this video, is the best approach because it minimizes the bend of the tube inside the nose and therefore is less likely to create a sore spot. Although I wasn't able to shower, I use a wet cloth to wipe myself down while I put the monitoring device in a bag. Blowing my nose was more messy, and I had more mucus when wearing this device. When sleeping, the device slipped left or right. I think it should be put in some harness that stayed on my body. While eating, I could feel something in the back of the throat with every swallow, but it was nothing compared to the soreness in my nose. I made it to 24 hours and was so glad to have it removed.
ОтветитьNot true very incomforteblel
ОтветитьTotally recommend going through with this test. It’s pretty easy. One person commented that the tube in the throat feels a bit like a Dorito being stuck back there, and that’s pretty accurate, it’s like soft-sharp, but not stabbing. I’m doing great so far at home with the impedance test. The technician put both tubes in so easily. It bothersome sure, but your stomach pain, GERD, etc is so much worse.
ОтветитьI've got mine in now, the manometry bit is not nice but it doesn't take too long. The second tube is smaller and easier and will be out in no time. Good luck
Ответитьi was gagging the entire time and now i have to do the wireless one...
ОтветитьI had this done. When they pulled the tube out, I threw my hands up and yelled, "Ta da!!"
ОтветитьAfter reading these comments I was so scared but had these both done today and they weren’t as bad for me as what people are saying was for them, breath and distract yourself as well as listening to the nurse and you will be fine! X
ОтветитьThank you for very informative video, it eased my child's nerves...they are having the test done tomorrow.
I just wanted to mention that the very loud background music is very distracting and it takes away from the seriousness of the video.
It was the worst shit I have ever done
ОтветитьI am not a gagging type person but this test did it to me. My nose bled, the catheter tube bent in my throat and got wadded up on insertion and I almost vomited, and everything hurts. I swallow or talk and the tube yanks on my bleeding nostril, eating or drinking make me gag and choke, and I’m thoroughly, thoroughly miserable. I think reflux is a cakewalk compared to this.
ОтветитьI have to have this done and am terrified
ОтветитьWhy don't doctor give sedative for like 24 hours along with glucose, it will be easy for those who cannot do.
ОтветитьI noticed my probe, the copper looking pieces stopped in all likelhood before they got all the way into my throat... so probably only to my upper esophogaus.. do you think my probe could have missed something? would this still work on non-acidic LPR? I have most of the symptoms but my test supposedly came back negative. There is visual redness and occasional bump on my pharynx.
ОтветитьThis test was performed on me in April, and it honestly wasn't bad like I thought it was going to be. There was a little pain in the nostril that the catheter was inserted in after the procedure, but other then that it wasn't really bad at all. I praise and thank God for that. I meant to share my experience in here sooner.
ОтветитьHaving this done tomorrow. Im terrified because i have a bad gag reflex and trouble swallowing. But ive got no choice. Ive had this issue for 7yrs, and I'm willing to try at this point. I'll post here how it went (if I forget, remind me.)
ОтветитьHad it done today. I am not wimpy I chalk this up to one of the worse test I had. It took the nurse 3 times to get it in she kept missing. I didn't gag. My nose is so sore and my throat is aching. I rather have an EMG with needles stuck in me!
Ответитьlol only patients in the comments no med students ? :)
Ответитьwhatr about the diagnosis that depends on the data collected from the monitor reflux?
ОтветитьMine did not go this smooth at all. Lol
ОтветитьThis procedure is not about how you like it or not, it has to be done to confirm your health disorder according to the complaints of yours otherwise how they gonna treat yours condition..if left untreated then the problems it’s yours not for them🤷♂️
During the procedure may happen unwanted things but it’s not what they want🥲
No pain No gain lol👾
This woman is full of shit lol. These tests are absolutely brutal.
ОтветитьJust had this done. This lady had to be on a sedative.... or got paid alot! My doctor made the process so stressful. Not sure why she acted like having a tubular device through my entire upper body was normal.
ОтветитьNot horrible, but not pleasant. I think the level of discomfort is an individual thing. I had a hard time with the ESO manometry. The tube is uncomfortable going down. The numbing agent tastes terrible, definitely made me gag. The second tube is much easier but keeping it in overnight isn't fun. Right now I am half way through the 24 hour ph test and I can't wait to get the tube out. Once in awhile I feel the tube in the back of my throat and it makes me gag. Again, some people probably tolerate it much better. I will say, so far the most difficult part of the test is being off my PPI for 7, now 8 days. I am on fire. It's so painful. My sleep has been horrible. Eating is painful, but not eating is also painful. I get heartburn either way. I keep telling myself that many people have to go through much more difficult things, even children. That's my push through it mantra.
ОтветитьHad this today, properly gagged took 3 times to sort it. I found not sipping water worked for me.
ОтветитьThank you for the video. The music, however, is very disturbing.
ОтветитьI have a huge hiatal hernia and I gag the tube back up. Because this test is required, I can't have the surgery. I have suffered for yrs.
ОтветитьBg music doesn't suit at all🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
ОтветитьI just got it today was horrible put the second tube was pretty easy I just want this day to be over to get this off my nose is running alot also
ОтветитьAm going to do it this week 😔am so afraid
ОтветитьI did the manometry and the ph metry yesterday. The manometry does not cause pain, but it gives you a lot of gagging and it bothers your throat when you are swallowing water all the time. When they did the pH metry, I vomited when they inserted the probe and they couldn't put it in. In the end after a while they were able to put it on me. The pH meter 24 hours, the first hours are the hardest, but then you get used to it. It is not painful, but annoying. It was worth getting tested for the results of my GERD disease.
