They've fumbled so many talented players away from mismanagement they can't be surprised nobody wants to come here.
As a Sabres fan I was always on the players' side, especially Eichels.
This all comes down to ownership, he refuses to spend to the cap or pay for solid talent development in the front office or behind the bench.
Until this changes, the Sabres will be the laughing stock of the league.

You had Eichel to build around your team for the longest time and still couldn't get the job done to be a contender...

Pro sports teams are a hobby for the ownership so I am not surprised having a good team is not a priority.

Blaming Adams for 14 years of no playoff is crazy. Signing players just to fill jerseys so you can so tell reporters you tried isn't a winning plan. The truth is the core isn't on the level of Toronto, Boston, Tampa and Florida. Sabres have drafted really good players, they need time. Doesn't matters what happened 10 years ago.

Expected goals is a BS stat……it is based on players having skill to put the puck in the net ….problem their forwards don’t have skill to score

buffalo cant score as always and they buy out a 30-40 goal scorer and dont replace him and they wonder why they are on a losing streak.......lack of leadership and it starts with the owners and works its way down

Unfortunately, and I hate saying this, and I know it can't happen, but fold this team... they are so bad and never will be ok.. they lost a whole decade of fans..I wish they could do a dispersal draft. Just put everyone out of their misery.

The root problem is Terry Pegula, who can't hire a competent GM and can't keep his hands off the team long enough for a prospective Director of Hockey Operations to even want a job turning this franchise around

Adams surely means well, he's from here, but he's clearly been in WAY over his head since a least 2 seasons ago when he failed to help the team break the playoff drought amidst a veritable playoff run, left the boys dangling with no help and told them to figure it out

Bryson or Jokiharju alone should not have been here for more than a handful of games, yet, they're both still starting in their, what, 5th or 6th seasons? Adams just can't build a roster and can't figure anything out. Failed to weaponize the cap for assets when we had space, now his build has come up far short and is expensive.

I feel worst for the genuine talent we have that's stuck here, frankly, like Dahlin, Power, poor Tuch who grew up proud of the Blue & Gold.

Every Sabre is a better player on another team, which speaks to how bad this franchise is

Eichel had a problem "fluffing his nose" and is NOT free from blame for the consequences of how that all played out; he never really wanted to be here, he (and our front office & ownership) chased ROR out. Jack absolutely owns a good chunk of blame for his personal conduct though.

Buffalo NY is not the deterrent for UFA's. The Buffalo Sabres that are the deterrent.

There's been one independent variable involved with the Sabres this entire time. Between all thr players, staff, coaches... I wonder who that could own that responsibility 🤔

What makes this crazier is if you look at these 14 years you cant even be shocked at how theyve played out. Since pegula took over theres NEVER been a real president of hockey operations, EVERY GM has been a rookie GM, and MOST coaches have been rookie coaches/soccer coaches. Havent made the playoff in 14 years? not exactly a surprise with that management.

Everything you all said is true. The way the Jack situation played out made it look like Jack was in the wrong and the bad guy. There is an internal cap, no FA wants to come here because of the way we treat players

And then tonight... the loss against the canadiens... The Canadiens are streaky and everything... but like... OUCH.

The answer is that, for The 14 Years, there's been A Problem With The GMs & even when Kevyn Adams did A Decent Job, during The Jack Eichel Years, he screwed up by hiring Ralph Krueger, who had wasted Skinner, Hall, Staal & others, some of which went on to Win Stanley Cups (Eichel, Reinhardt, O'Reilly, Okposo & Others). I think that Kevyn Adams is so Shell-Shocked that Hall, Staal & Others didn't pan out. As I've explained, the problem wasn't with those acquisitions, but it's why they didn't work out (as I said, that was do to the Failure Of Ralph Krueger, as coach & not the acquisitions). Kevyn Adams is modern day Garth Snow. A guy who never should've been GM who got thrust into the role because he was a former player. The Sabres need a young, smart guy to fix this ship because they have the pieces to figure it out, just can't do it with this crew in charge right now.

Every team in each major sport has a professional farm team. They hide it by making them either completely dysfunctional or make them decently competent, but that team never wins the big one The Sabres are the NHL's farm team.

It’s not gmka fault. He’s drafted pretty well. Hes done his best with trades. But they can fire him and replace him and it won’t change cuz the owner will be the same

The Sabres are a developmental team for the NHL. I don’t have a problem with the GM, he doesn’t have any veteran difference makers. The type of players the Sabres need don’t hit free agency or get traded and when you’re drafting 18 year old kids you don’t have more than an educated guess to work with. Josh Allen was playing Junior College football when he was 18. Good thing for the Bills the NFL Draft eligibility age is reasonable. NFL teams get immediate help in the draft, NHL teams get a kid who isn’t eligible to play in Rochester yet and is going back to Moose Jaw to play his final season of Junior Major. The Sabres are just drafting players to develop for trades and repeating the cycle… You can’t go 14 years without making the playoffs Mr. Reporter? The over/under on DraftKings is probably 20…

Adams admitting he cant close a deal. Sabres are worse off than when he started, get rid of him. Stars like Eichel and Reinhardt walking shows he is no great judge of talent either.
