IT'S PEAK | Sonic and the Black Knight (w/ MarKatoto)

Jason really nailed his Sonic voice by this time. Shame he couldn't have voiced the character longer. I grew up with him in Sonic X and the early 2000s. He still is my favorite actor to portray Sonic/Shadow.

Fun fact, when i was an autistic 12 year old... holy shit that was half my life ago...
Anyways, when i was a 12 vyear old, one of the characters i wanted to play for D&D was sonic, the DM actually decided it would be an interesting idea, but put mye on a bit of an assignment. Play a bunch of sonic games.
That was my main exposure to Black Knight actually. Because i decided to get it along some other budget sonic games by trading in some stuff at the local game store(videogame wizards or smth) and got it for pretty cheap. I was so confused on why family around me were heckling the shit out of it because i was having a hell of a fun time.

Not going to lie sonic having the idea of "do right even if it makes you look bad" has been a core memory to me and im so glad the story holds up because of it.

(also this game lives rent free in my head whenever i think of writing fanfic because the first thing i think of is Blazes version of the storybook series where shes a witch. The sol dimension has so much potential and im still mad blaze doesnt have nearly as much development and conflict with her a princess vs her as a hero)

I like the banter Penny and Mar have in this game. Enjoyed the Sonic Un-wii-shed and Aiai's Revenge runs too, yall are fun.

Something that's probably already been said in these comments but I think its really cool that each of the Knights of the Round table (even Galahad and Lamorak, who I wish got to show up in the story) are all represented by characters who are meant to directly rival sonic

makes me sad people thing danganronpa is bad just cause the english localization is so bad. it's actually infuriating the decisions the translators made, god damn.

I love the cutscene where Sonic gets Caliburn because it reveals his role in the story of King Arthur: He's Mordred, Arthur's worst foe who mortally wounded him

Something about the soul surge, I think maybe playing the game in a higher FPS causes Soul surge to look Ucky, because it was meant to be played at 30? (Or whatever the native FPS cap was)

You know who would make a great Shadow voice for Sonic 3? Chris Pratt.

I think the best part of the Round Table knights is that they're all portrayed by Sonic's rival characters. Even in battle mode, Galahad and Lamorak are played by Silver and Jet respectively. It's REALLY cool.

Out of all the people I've seen play this game for the first time you guys are the best to watch you didn't laugh at every little thing Sonic said, you didn't complain about the controls, you didn't get stuck on the most simplest things and you flat out enjoy the game rather than just hate playing it or not taking it seriously because it's Sonic l,best blind playthrough 10/10

Love how the two dragons in this game are meant to be the Arthurian versions of Chaos and the Biolizard

Okay, I do actually really love this game...but I gotta share something weird. I kept waiting for a certain aspect of the twist to come up, only for it to never do so - and now I'm wondering if I legitimately imagined it. I perfectly remember all the details about WHY Merlina was the bad guy - wanting to stop the end of the tale she knows is coming - ...but somehow, along the way, I apparently misremembered her revealing her true identity to be Morgan le Fay. ...Which is disappointing, because that would have been really cool.

Had to do some digging because I hadn't actually heard Erica Lindbeck's Blaze voice in anything since TSR, which I don't remember anything about. But holy damn, she's perfect for Blaze. It's unreal how similar her cadence is to Erica Schroeder's. It actually makes me kinda mad Blaze hasn't had a proper presence in anything lately, because I really wanna hear what she sounds like in motion as part of a proper story cutscene.
Also she voices Cheelai in Dragon Ball Super, and that's just bonus points in my book. Green wife 💚

Man, I wish Penny got to hear more of the dialogue during the final boss fight. That line from Sonic about not wanting to know such one-sided sadness hits so hard.

As someone who loves Sonic and Knights of the round table stories, this game is a godsend

I would genuinely love if they remade this game in the Open Zone format...

Especially if they could get at least most of the original voice cast for it. Like, don't change the story at ALL just change the gameplay style. Frontiers combat is really cool, imagine polishing that up and adding sword fighting on top of that!

Please have Mar on ever time you do Sonic games because Unleashed is my FAVORITE ever and the amount of verbal stims its given me is crazy. Penny and Mar playing Sonic is something I need 500 streams of 💕 Nothing makes me laugh like you two and I listen to the 4 highlight episodes on loop to sleep so much

This is one of the most underrated sonic game ever if you don’t like it and you say the game is bad you’re probably just bad with motion controls!

I remember losing to Percival and the second Arthur fight so many times as a kid that it drove me to tears. I don't think Arthur's fight is all that hard aside from the extremely wonky QTEs but Percival is BRUTAL. I tried the second Lancelot fight maybe twice before deciding not to bother

People think the 3rd movie is gonna be super serious are... Well, yeah, they should curb their expectations. I do hope they have some more serious moments, with regards to Shadow's backstory especially, but yeah, it is still mostly made for kids. Kids can handle a tragic backstory, but an existential crisis for Sonic or something is a little out of the range of possibility.

He's coming whether I'm ready or not, so why even ask?

i adore this game, the gameplay is clunky and it doesnt feel very great to play. But everything other than the gameplay is fucking peak. The characters, the writing, the music, the spectacle, its all just 🤌
