I found this video on a different device I was logged in on so I could leave a comment to say how excellent that practical demonstration was - very well done, I deeply appreciate the effort and diligence you took to communicate this in a way that is simple to understand without making the information useless

You're an excellent educator, thank you

Paul, I'm an amateur photographer who owns a Canon T6 who just enjoys taking photos of the birds at my various bird feeders and critters in my yard. I've been watching a few of your videos the last two days and really appreciate the detailed, but simplistic way you teach us amateurs. I have learned so much from the last two days. Thank you.

Thank you, Paul, for the easy-to-understand explanations. I'm new to photography and have learned so much from watching your videos. Thank you for your time and efforts. They are appreciated. I have the Canon EOS2000D (T7) so there's often a direct correlation between your presentations and my application. Yes - I'd love to see a video on the topic of "crop factor". Please keep on making these beginner-based videos. Cheers from the US!

I watch your videos and learn a lot, that is why I am a subscriber. BUT I finally have the courage to ask a simple question. Why is my focusing ring on my kit lens Canon 18-55 not working, it just turns but does nothing whether put in manual or auto. I am just a beginner photographer.

I purchased a Canon "package" that came with 3 lenses to include a telephoto lens. Your video taught me many things that I was not aware of, like focal length and the crop factor. Thank you for taking the time to teach me how to improve my amateur photo skills. I guess is time to take a picture of the moon using your method.

Thank you so much for all your help with these videos. I have definitely been on a Photo Genius worm hole all week 😂. I’m retiring from competing in marathons to hopefully becoming an endurance event photographer. What lens you suggest to get first to learn the craft before getting the ideal and pro lenses? Thanks again for all the great content to reference to !

I'm a self taught photographer and even though I have learned these things from experience and comprehensive knowledge- I wouldn't be able to explain to someone else with detail and proper verbage this information so I try to watch videos almost anytime I have a chance to absorb the information... Even though I know most of it I still learn something Here and there but this is beyond the most informative video I have come across for 'beginners'. You touch the same basic principles that most other videos I watch do as well but you give so much more than any of the many I've seen. I love this. I can actually explain now how I do x,y,z referencing the actual information.

It's like when I took math and they asked us to show how we got 2 and 3 makes 5 - my head says well... I just know 2 and 3 equal five. But what they're looking for (and what tool you've just given me) is me writing out 2+3 = 5 and showing the technical breakdown. Love!!!

Brilliant videos. I am new to photography so I just keep going over and over your videos. I have never heard of the crop factor. So now I’ll keep that in mind. I am looking forward to the day I am a lot faster at putting all the information together before I take a photo. I’ll take a few reasonable photos within the limits of my kit lens and my understanding, then the next time I’ll completely forget. I write things down and try to take it with me wherever I go.that way o hope to get faster each time I practice. Thanks for your time and wonderful videos.

I tend to lean towards the safer side of things, especially when shooting moving subjects and as such I tend to use a shutter speed no slower than double the focal length of the lens, and as I'm using full frame (Canon R5) the crop factor is irrelevant. 1.1000sec or faster when using my RF 100-500mm at full stretch tends to do the trick.

So, shooting on a full frame at 200mm - it would be 1/200 min right?
