I really loved all the opinions in this discussion, i loved and agreed with it all; Rooney Mara sucked; the idea of Freddy being a gardener and him being a flat out molester pissed me off. Freddy was never intended to be a molester, he was meant to be a child killer , because he wanted revenge towards thos on Elm Street who burnt him.

Nightmare on elm street had the highest highs of any horror franchise and the lowest lows imo freddys dead is bad and has aged terribly lol

To me I'd say part one was the best. It's my second favorite horror movie of all time. That being said part three is the funnest of the series. And imo those were the only two movies of the franchise that were actually great movies. When I was younger I grew up with part three so I seen it much more and preferred it at the time. But as an adult I prefer the first film. Both are great entries tho. And A Nightmare on Elm Street hasn't come close to a movie that matches those two since the third movie. And DrumDUms yes I am a huge hair metal fan myself. I play guitar and like to shred. So the evolution of the radical guitar solo was an 80s thing. Love THE HAIR METAL!!!!

Freddy's Revenge was definitely scary. It just never felt like it fit with the rest of the series to me ya know?

Freddy's Dead is a HORRIBLE movie. But I hate to admit this, I enjoy it a lot lol! I seen it at theaters tho ya know? It has nostalgic value in spades for me. And the Goo Dolls in the soundtrack was pretty sweet even tho normally I hate them lmao! So yeh, horrible movie but to me 5 was by far the worst and I enjoy Freddy's Dead more than most of the nightmare series haha

To me New Nightmare is the H20 of the Nightmare Franchise. It was made extremely well. The acting was spot on. Good plot. But for some reason it just never hit me ya know? It didn't feel like it belonged to the franchise imo. So I don't really care for it.

Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon is so awesome! It's primarily what got me started on the slasher culture. Obviously not on slasher films. But Until I see Behind the Mask I never really looked at it like that ya know? Like they were just all horror films to me.

I Freakin adore Part 2, 1 is awesome to and i feel 2 just adds to the feeling of 1 , Dream Warriors is amazing to, Kincaid is hilarious , loved the nerdy wizard kid , Kirsien , Patrica is so good in that role , tv girl is ok , i love Taryn though. I admit I love Part 4

Always hard for me to pick between the big 3. I flip flop back and forth between the 3 of them in terms of who’s better. Some days it’s undoubtedly Michael, some days Jason’s the man, some days I feel like there’s no one better than Freddy. I think the one I may most consistently side with would be Jason but it really depends. Freddy and Michael constantly flip flop for sure.

In any case, they absolutely are the top of the list. Pinhead, Chucky, leatherface, leprechaun, ghost face, candy man, jigsaw, none of them have anything on the big 3 whatsoever.

Freddys revenge is nowhere near as good as dream warriors freddy revenge is okay but I like wes craven new nightmare wayvmore then 2. Part 4 is far more entertaining and better. Only things I hate about nightmare 4 is how he was brought back and how quickly they kill the characters from part 3. Also hate 100 pound tough guy wannabe alice's brother.

Part 6 is the natural conclusion of where pop culture dragged the Krueger character.... People forget how mainstream Freddy got OUTSIDE of the movies.... This is something the writers for Myers, Jason or whoever never had to juggle... (This isn't a defense of the film itself; just rationale.)

Kills:
- No-one ever mentions Rod from NOES1, but I love that shit!
- The pizza scene in 4 wasn't a kill; just a dream sequence where Freddy is taunting Lisa.

GIRLS: I wonder if Patrica Arquette would have returned they'd have still killed Kristin off so quickly rather than evolving her into the dream master character in 4... Her and Alice were effectively the same character afterall (except Kristin was the remaining link to Nancy and had the experiential benefit of being a dream warrior).
