Kyle, you had a massive allergy. When you are at the point of swelling in the mouth, this is a turning concerning point and you should have rushed to a doctor (no they are not all horrible….) and a shot later you will have felt way better with rush vanishing. But you also needed a reset and a rest, a slowing down in your dense physical activities. So, maybe sleeping 2/3 days was not a bad outcome. (You were physically exhausted-> your immune system shut off-> you got what was around, a bad virus probably, and an allergy) Sleeping and resting restore your immunity. Don t miss it ! You are 30 now, in the blink of an eye you will be 40 and the story will be different…. Take care of yourself (saying that as a mother, and a doctor)

I love your living real. I imagine being young again watching your videos! The illness resembles some cases of streptococcus infection I have treated (old, retired doc here) where the patient has an allergy to streptococcus toxin. Often the hives are large and painful. Clindamycin is the first choice as it reduces toxin production by the bacteria as well as halting bacterial growth. If you get this again see and old experienced family doc who has also seen this before.

Hello from Israel...i just sent a documentary of yours to my dad wich grew up in the Catskills and he was so happy to feel nature again through your eyes. My mom passed away two months ago and they were together for 64 years...when they first dated he brought mom to the mountains and we have lots of pictures from that time. I worked for a company called CAM MINING on a strip mine, I drove a monster truck, really learned a lot, plus I got to go 1 mile back in a small mine in pickville kentucky.
