I’m delighted that So-Many of Us love good-films, regardless of age (the Viewer’s OR the Film’s) — for the stories, acting, directing, cinematography, producing, etc; empty, billion-dollar ‘block-busters’ don’t satisfy a huge-majority of Viewers!

What a delightful surprise! Beyond the silly device of the gun-toting DA who does his own investigating in the street, this is a solid story, with a touch of pathos. Thank you!

Comments here are far too kind for the typical Hollywood style melodramic dialogue throughout this film--but, at least it's still better than the brainwashing/leftist/woke trash Hollywood is passing off as moviemaking today.

I always read a few of the comments before i watch. as movies often get mixed reviews. Not this one, though. Excellent in every department...

Opening scene: I love how even criminals used to dress up for work

When a woman knew the kitchen and the bedroom were the best place for them. Bare foot and pregnant helped to keep out of trouble.

The actor playing Steve looks like Dana Andrews on steroids.

Great to see these fantastic old movies. It is such a pity that they are destroyed by so many long and annoying advertisements. To many interruptions make viewing a irritating experience.

A very entertaining movie. Those are the days when there were good script writers, and actors who could say more than 4 words at a time. The films had monologs with words in sentences. Ah, those were the days.😊

Whatever happened to Hollywood voice culture? Every leading man and most baddies spoke in rugged baritones. Even the women were low contraltos. In contrast, today's actors sound like Mickey Mouse.

Alas, Marguerite Chapman, such a forgotten beautiful thespian actress. More gloriously easy on the eyes and an acting performance of "brilliant" in this one!

Adolph Menjou always reliable. TV used to have The Adolph Menjou Theatre. In the 1950s.

I swear that guy, Dennis O'Keefe's voice is dead-on Chuck Connors!! If this were a radio show instead of a movie, you wouldn't be able to tell whose voice you were hearing!! The lead character lives up to the D.A.'s assessment as a guy w/ethics, but he sure has terrible taste in women!!

This movie is very good much better than the 1941 movie it was more light comedy this one was a real crime movie 5 stars.

I love Michael O’Shea and Adolf Menjou! I am not familiar with Marguerite Chapman, but she’s gorgeous and I don’t remember seeing her in other films.

Nice to see that even a guy who shows up in the middle of the night to kill his wife wears a nice wool suit, a tie, and a pricey Stetson hat. Say, fella, ya got real class, I tell ya. Hope you didn't get doit on yuh suit while climbin' the fire escape.
