Excellent and informative! As I build this biblically based Life Guide company from the ground up it’s always nice to learn from leadership models that are already proven. Thanks for your time and service.
ОтветитьEnlisted I’ve bin thought both
ОтветитьEnlisted I’ve bin both ,frist enlisted a
Then commissioned
It is NOT a matter of whether being harder as an Enlisted Man or softer as an Officer , or vice versa. Both are important and imperative to The Mission of National Defense and Homeland Security of The United States of America, from Private to Sergeant Major. From Seaman Recruit to Master Chief Petty Officer. From Airman Basic to Chief Master Sergeant. From Specialist 1 to Chief Master Sergeant. The Same thing from Second Lieutenants and Ensigns to Generals and Admirals. Both are vital. I Myself, John Rodriguez, wished that I had more smarts so that, after, Prior Enlisted Service as both a MARINE and a Soldier, I would have sought a Second Lieutenant's ( O-1E) Commission, but, I Myself AM glad to have been a USMC and US Army Marine and Soldier.🇺🇸🇺🇲🪖💣💥🔥🗡️⚔️🛡️🇺🇸🇺🇲‼️
ОтветитьOfficers want to do goonshit and the goons want to get officer pay
ОтветитьCompare an Officer and Enlisted Personnel who are both in Infantry serving both in the combat and admin duties..not the personnel in infantry against in military medical field..dah...
ОтветитьI don't want to be harsh, but officers cant accomplish anything in the field without the EP..however, EP can accomplish it even without Officers..Y? Coz Officers are more on instructions and EP are more on actions to get it done with or without an Officer
ОтветитьOfficers are an elitist cast of privileged and monied people. Enlisted people are their fodder.
ОтветитьNoobs
ОтветитьHaving a damn good team helps. I was a E-3 got hurt and was moved into the unit Armor spot. It was just me doing all the paperwork the updates the maintenance the layouts everything. As a E3 I held an E5 position. I had a E5 get mad at me one time and tried to lock me up but I wouldn't listen to him because it was my arms room hearing the commotion a E7 Platoon sergeant came to see what was going on and he locked that E5 up and yelled at him for 10 minutes telling him that I do more as a E3 then he has yet as an E5. I had things happen like that a few times the platoon sergeants and my first sergeant always had my back.
ОтветитьGoing from enlisted to officer. Wish me luck....
ОтветитьNon-commissioned officers are the backbone of the military. 😮
ОтветитьEnlisted, officers dont do shit.
Ответитьso to summarize if you want action and fighting in the warzone go for the enlisted. And if you want more of administration work and enjoy not Being in the warzone that much go for officer. If it was up to me i would go for enlisted rather than going for officer
ОтветитьWas a SPC4 gunbunny when I arrived at Benning's school for 90 day wondeerkids. The physical misery of the field fell on everyone equally. My E-4 time was much more fun than my trip from O-1 to 3. Never doubted the men subordinate to me were my equals, and as long as we did our job we were good to go.
Never forgot or doubted the reason we salute after the card we were issued at the reception station that stated that the salute was an exchange of respect between equals. Was still a butter bar when my BN commander enlightened me of the difference between subordination and superiority.
They are both hard. Officers needs to learn how to lead and be strong for his men or women when it comes to stepping up for them. Enlisted is hard because they need to worry about staying alive hahah they are the Ginny pigs.
ОтветитьHey can you please post a video for the junior LTs in staff?
ОтветитьI have a feeling who "Burt" is in this video. If I am correct, he retired as a CW5 some years back after running the SF WO course for a long while. Great dude! I met him when he had just made CW3 and was appointed as the battalion warrant officer. He was one of the guys who participated in Operation Just Cause as part of the SF effort there.
ОтветитьEnlisted is harder.
ОтветитьIt’s wild, reading the comments everyone was a SFC and then went to ocs, even the foreigners. I find this, as the kids say, sus
ОтветитьEnlisted for Me❤
ОтветитьIm a 20 year old in university, thinking of joining up once I graduate. Seems obvious that I should join as an officer, but man enlisted seems like such a more exciting path
ОтветитьEnlisted is like being a man who's wife divorced him and took the kids. Being an Officer is like being the wife who left her husband, took the kids, wants extra money AND wants him to do extra work to make her life easier. You could make all Officers women and the same amount of work would get done.
ОтветитьExcellent video!!! Very informative!
ОтветитьThank you sir for this video. Enlisted it's the way for me.
ОтветитьThis is a very good overview and young people should look at this for an insight into going into the army or marines. And I enlisted, maxed the tests, was commissioned, and retired as a colonel. I was on the DMZ in Korea, in the Mekong Delta in Vietnam, and commanded an artillery battalion in Germany. In basic training I was put on KP, and they forgot me, and I was there for 24 hours. They gave me the day off and no more KP, and I knew that I could do anything. It is a very fluid environment, and flexibility is very important. When they ask you if you could do something, it is because they have no one else to ask. So do that thing. Whatever it is. I never worried about efficiency reports because I was doing what needed to be done, and the rest falls into place.
Ответитьdid you say gender training ? the woke crap is real ?
ОтветитьMy best advice for lower enlisted soldiers is to stay out of sight and when movement is necessary walk briskly and carry a manila folder or clipboard at all times. Everyone will think you are high speed, a leader, and getting shit done.
ОтветитьThat was super helpful. A family member is thinking of SF and this provides some great info to me
Ответитьsome people are astronauts, some are astronomers
ОтветитьI would say in general the officer path is more worth it than the enlisted path and is generally easier. However, what MOS or job specialty you have will determine how difficult or easy your time is going to be no matter if you're enlisted or an officer. I would always advise anyone thinking about joining the military to become an officer if they meet the requirements for the much higher pay, benefits, and power to make important decisions. Enlisted is a good path if you are 18 don't want to go to college yet and are unsure what to do with your life but once you get your bachelor's degree it's better to try to cross over to the officer side.
ОтветитьRepeal the 19th.
ОтветитьJag officer for me
ОтветитьThis is bullshit. I'd rather sympathize with the unabomber than a commissioned officer. The enlisted does all the work and get treated like shit where the officers do their administrative work and get the perks of better food, better sleeping quarters & etc... The enlisted is what runs the military not the officers.
ОтветитьOr get the best and worst of both worlds and go Warrant Officer.
ОтветитьI work for a general he gets a house and a car I put up is Christmas tree
ОтветитьInfantry is cannon smoke
ОтветитьIn army only 20 percent do the fighting the rest are back with the gear
ОтветитьFat bob spent lots of his time in stockade
ОтветитьBad leader than you can be killed by screw up mission
Ответитьenlisted me have to clean toilets. officers have a degree and they give orders
ОтветитьMissions change according to the security needs, and peace time. Combat scenarios have existed in my career through to retirement. Work is work, it's all a challenge. No one stays in a job indefinitely. Someone has to eventually teach. Five fingers make a fist. Which finger do you represent when it's time to make a fist? Post script :Some NCO' s have graduate degrees too, don't sleep.
ОтветитьIt's not complicated. The officers come up with stupid ideas the enlisted actually manage make it work, the officers then take credit.
ОтветитьMy son goes to meps tomorrow and your videos have taught us a lot about how to approach his career decision. Thank you!
ОтветитьIt depends... straight out the gate, as an officer you have the worst position in the army as your first rank. Many people look down on you, but if you keep your head straight, you can learn a lot, but while yes the enlisted do the plans, planning them is much harder than it seems. Yes executing can be jusg as hard, but both are no easy feat in comparison. Pay wise, yeah being an enlisted isnt great compared to an officer, but just as not everyone can be leaders, not everyone can be officers. I was raised by an E7, and am currently an officer in the Army, i can say treating troops like an E7 as an officer is definitely not the route😅 its an adjustment. Being able to learn roles. Not everyone is a soldier, not everyone is a leader. None are more necessarily harder than the other, it all comes down to who we are. If you have the ability to be an officer, understand the responsibilities and never stop, and there will be great respect in your future, if you want to be an NCO, never stop, and soldiers will always look up to being like you some day, you earned it. But as a regular enlisted soldier, if you believe thats all you are meant to become. Get Good at it, and Become the Best You Can Be. But to Be a Good Leader, You Must Be a Good Follower. Maybe, We Can All Be Leaders.
Ответитьlol what’s harder doing your job and and getting paid better vs. doing your job with low compensation and no appreciation
ОтветитьThis might be a stupid question, but may I ask why you went Officer over Enlisted?
ОтветитьBeing not bee-een
ОтветитьSomething often overlooked in discussions like this is the issue of responsibility. The difference between a 22-year-old, 2LT Platoon leader and the 32-year-old Platoon SGT. is that the 22-year-old Butter Bar is, and can be held, personally responsible for the lives every one of his troops and the success or failure of their mission in a way that his Platoon SGT cannot. This is reflected in the oaths that both take. The Sgt's oath, like that of all enlisted troops, includes swearing before God to "Obey the lawful orders of the President of the United States, and those officers and non-commissioned officers appointed over them." The Officer's Oath of Office contains no such statement. While the officer is required under the UCMJ to obey his superiors, he (or she) is under no moral obligation to do so and, in fact, may exercise his (or her) own judgement in the pursuit of the mission and, as we say, be held accountable for it.
