Bulk is not that big an issue if your main concern is a 1 stop emulation and gaming device, i honestly can hardly think of any other thing to make this the default portable gaming device.

I have slowly been trying to get applications, set up on my steam deck to turn this into the ultimate consul anything from PS4 and Xbox one prior or emulated and for those two systems are going to be streamed to the console

Yeah, maybe don't copy and paste commands bc someone told you it's a quick fix. I'm sure op knows what he's doing, but those watching may not. Don't do that, verify functionality. Even if that's just copying and pasting the command(s) into copilot/gpt4 and asking it to elaborate

A bit disappointed you didn't mention the touch pads, they are great for use on DS, 3DS and Wii as replacements for the stylus or Wii Mote.

I will wait for steamdeck2 - since I want ps3 emulation to be better. I know i can get Asus ROG Ally X but I would want the steamdeck community and support

quick tip: if anyone feels like 4:3 is too weird/no widescreen support and 16:9 is too stretched, try 1.57:1 aspect ratio, its around 20% wider than 4:3 and to me its the perfect resolution for PS2, i usually play at 1700x1080 resolution.

Now that the OLED is out, you can get great colors on all of these now. The only shortcoming is still the CPU and overall power itself, but everything else is near perfect

Just got my steam deck. I has issues with the Xbox 360 emulator but everything else works perfectly! All my hand held games and wii GameCube and ps2 games.

3 weeks ago I have discovered that Miyoo Mini Plus existed. I bought one for 50 bucks. Then I wanted to try the RG35XX h... And discovered Steam Deck. Bought a 64GB LCD version for 200 bucks, a half TB SSD card and replaced it. Oh my god.

Anyone Have Any Recommendations on where i can find a helpful guide to do this to my own deck? mostly ps3 and switch games. Im aware there is alot of legal stuff around guides but any help would be great.

I had the original steam deck then upgraded to the OLED when it released. Even after a year plus, this is the first 'console' I have been excited for in a loooooooooong time and I love looking at videos like this.

The fact that, today, I can basically have a portable PS3 is insane.

I remember when people were taking apart the Dreamcast and putting it inside a Leap Frog and shit. Electronics nerds used to sell portable systems they made themselves for like $700, but now you can just have pretty much every system on one device.

I recently bought two steam decks. The 1TB OLED and the cheaper 64gb LCD model for my sister. (she wanted my switch and I said nah)

Installed Emudeck on both and we’re having a great time. She’s playing 3DS games and PS2 like it’s nothing and doesn’t mind the screen or refresh rate.

Valve have really done something amazing with this device to have its cheapest model the same price as a Switch OLED.

wanted to buy switch lite since tyey are right now discounted to 150€ on amazon but then I googled and I realized my old phone is just about able to emulate switch at full speed hahaha

are emulators free on Steamdeck? would like to upgrade from nswitch

I ended up going with the Legion Go because of the size and it was a bit more powerful but I was so close to getting a steam deck, but honestly both options are so good especially for emulating. But the community & valve are really on top of things, im excited to see them release another steamdeck in the future.

I am really happy i did not buy the Steam Deck and waited for the Asus Ally to arrive :-) because there is one feature that instantly is a "reason to buy" without asking for any other features: The XG External Graphic Card Port. While it's true that the Steam Deck replaces PS2, PS3, PSP, NDS, SNES, Gameboy etc. it does not replace one thing and that is a Gaming PC. Hooking up an external Geforce 4090 XG however does replace a Gaming PC maybe up to 80-85%.
