5 Annual Flower Seeds To Plant On Your Homestead From BrainStorm Acres Off Grid Homesteading

We grow organic food to feed our bodies, and a selection of flowers to feed our souls. Some flowers serve both purposes.

Affordable homesteading means making the most of limited resources. We're busy getting the garden beds ready for planting our favorite seeds. We actually have peas planted in one bed just waiting for the ground to warm up enough. Most of our outdoor raised beds are built as wicking beds - which cam work for both top watering and wicking watering.

Our DIY greenhouse currently houses a wicking bed for winter greens, starting trays for spinach and radishes, and a dutch bucket hydroponic system that will shortly get planted out with tomatoes.

Our objective is to grow more of our own food for dietary reasons, and the security of knowing how our food has been raised. We are sustainable with a limited number of plants, and are working towards greater self sufficiency.
