MLS is a data base where licensed real estate agents or brokers list property to share information about properties and split broker commissions.

By sharing commissions more properties get sold and sellers who are listed in the MLS get better results. Home Sellers drastically increase their chances of getting their home sold quicker because they are getting more exposure throughout all professionals in the industry.

Now this is a huge avenue for sellers to make sure their property is listed in their local MLS or the largest MLS in the region of their state (or where their property is located).

In California we recommend that you not only have your property in the local MLS if you are in a challenging rural area you may want to have your property also listed in another larger MLS. Larger means more agent members in the closest, metro area.
