Here's what you do in Rumble Arena 2. You get 3 friends. Then you select Gatomon and the Cannery. You are never going to digivolve. Just spam hypnotism and chuck them into the canning machine. They will try to stop you, but they will always stab each other in the back. Just keep hypnotizing and canning.

You will then have to find 3 new friends.

First time viewer here, I must say the editing on this video is incredibly done. Very impressive transition sequences, it adds a lot nice retro style. Awesome, dude!

I liked both Rumble Arena 1 and 2 a lot. I feel if they had made some changes to RA2 it would be a lot more interesting for a competitive format!

Huh. I can't remember the piñata effect one from the Gamecube version. Could that be an exclusive reference to Viva Piñata?
Or I might just be misremembering. It has been many years, after all.

no renamon is baffling

2 is actually one of the greatest party fighting games ever.

They could of put this game on ps2 classic games for kids to play with when I'd seen the game in cex it was £25 then down to £22 and after that £20 so the only games they have for kid's is toy story 2, 3 and buzz lightyear of star command i feel that could of put more games on the ps4/ps5 and that way everyone gets to play these old games that are classic's instead of being trapped on ps1, ps2 and ps3.

I would want to play as Wargrowlmon and Metalgreymon too. They are more interesting designs than a lot of mega/ult forms

Id say the second game has better gameplay but it just has no personality and despite containing mainly content related to the anime it has absolutely no tie ins the actual anime which makes it feel generic and soulless

And oh god the ost is so forgetable unlike the first game (specially the japanese version)

you could change the settings on your tv to fix the stretching, it worked for me while playing my copy of digimon RA2 on gamecube.

God, what a beloved throwback. Renting this from Blockbuster stole my attention. Revisted the game on my hacked wii as a young adult. Brought it over to my nephews place to play with them. I was hella toxic with the spam. It had gotten so bad that both of my nephews teamed up to kill me cuz i was so elusive and had my live stocks as Gallatmon on that one western map. They both were at their last stock on low health. They had me cornered from above and below. I notice i had my ultimate, pressed the button and fucking obliterated them. The explosive death sound, their raging reactions had me in tears. Love this game and the memories it gave me along the way. Ps, they refused to play after that day.

Games that badly need a re-release

Call me crazy but this game was better, than super smash bros

They missed an opportunity to make this one more of a unique fighting game instead of this bouncy brawler mechanic. This one was a more blatant Smash clone than the first with the ugliest textures and rubbery animations (perhaps thats subjective but they're disgusting and cartoony which would be something stupid to complain about if this were any other cartoon franchise but it does not fit with digimon), boring derivative stages and terrible stage music, incomplete evolution lines and cut characters. The overall aesthetic is just an eyesore. Even as a kid I was averse to it and just went back to the first one because if I wanted Smash gameplay and far away camera angles I'd just play Melee where the textures on the characters didn't look like liquid mercury and the camera was dynamic.

TLDR: smash bros Digimon edition.

Loved this game. My friend hated me so much for always yelling digivolutions 😅. Also I remember there was a bug with Lilymon poison attack that would pop u instantly.

Dropping the Tea Bags in Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is epic

The first one had a charming aesthetic that the second just doesn’t replicate.
…also not having Beelzemon is a cardinal sin and cannot be forgiven.

ah Rumble Arena 2, a very fun game, have a great memories of it with my late brother (may his soul rest in peace), when we were able to rent and finally able to afford our first PS2 this was our mandatory title, played all night doing stock score with the longest time limit in the Toy Kingdom Stage, wish they made a REAL successor for the Rumble Arena series (the PS3 brawler game is a real downgrade compared to Rumble Arena 2 imho, even Rumble Arena 1 feels better even purely for nostalgia)

I remember playing both with my friends back in the old days, and while I agree Rumble arena 2 is better in a lot of ways, I still somehow prefer the first one more, we even go back and play the first one after playing the second a couple times, and I dunno why is that lol

Great video about an awesome game! I think that Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is a fairer alternative Smash Bros for casual players.
It is easy to get into for new players, and experienced players do not have a big advantage, because the combat mechanics are not too deep; whereas advanced players of Smash Bros clearly dominate new players

Personally I prefer the first RUmble Arena out of the two for mainly two reasons.

1. It's simply a "just beat the crap out of the other one" sort of brawler.
Rumble Arena 2 is far less clunky, there's more playable characters (some of 'em more "rare" picks, like Palmon) and they also feel realyl varied to eachother. AND there are more evolutions as well per character. And there's more than 1v1 multiplayer, there's more game modes. And, and, etc. etc. Point being there's a lot of fun to have.
...But the orb gathering just... ugh.. To be blunt; just not a fan of it. I guess they needed some sort of "charging systerm" in order to get more evolutions to work AND in a gameplay sense I get that it's there as a reason for you to leave the opponent alone for a straight minute (so you can go gather orbs) and this in turn let's your friends/family member your playing with get the moment of recovering and let 'em breath, instead of just ganging up and bullying them constantly without letting 'em to play.

I just wish there was a "better" system though.

2. ...I just don't like the graphics as much as in RA1. RA2 is far more "greyish" and less colorfull, while RA1 has far more vibrant and pastel colors on pretty much everything. And I simply love that far more.
