I got a construction job after the person I replaced walked out after haveing a hisey fit....he came back 2 weeks later with a attitude of okay I'm ready to come back after you apologize to me and possibly fire my manager..... Was completely shocked when they told him not interested we are very happy with your replacement....he Ended up losing his home ...as noone wanted to hire a primadonna cry baby despite it being a very sought-after technical position

Tim this ain't complicated, he was told to do one thing did another, they didn't want him doing that so he called their bluff on them taking more action on him and they showed they weren't going to do that. Saying it's complicated makes no sense. Looking at it from my view, they wanted to change the website to something else, and if they are smart now they will change the name from Deadspin to something else.

Failing company keeps getting passed around. New owners want to change things hoping they can get a profit from their risky investment. Employees don't want to progress by changing their failed ways. They quit. Why care. This happens all the time with failed businesses. Employers are not obligated to cater to their employees wishes. The employees are obligated to follow the owners wishes. Sounds like they were being passed around because they lacked real leadership. You could have cut out the last 11 or 12 minutes.

Maybe the owners did consider this would happen and used it to effectively clean house without getting to know where everyone stood. No one is a bad guy. They all just did what the believed in.

If you've been employed to do something and would like to remain in that position, you should probably do what you were hired to do. I went to the website the other day and lo and behold they suddenly had a bunch of articles relating to sports. The weird part was that there were no bylines on a lot of the articles. Someone took the job and doesnt want their woke activist friends to find out.

Glad these ideologues are being pushed out of the main stream. These people need to go to somewhere they matter. They should all just go to tumblr and have the audience they desrve, 0 viewers. the owners did the right thing and the journalist did the right thing. Follow me here if a new owner the person who owns the business Top Dog told you you're going to do X and you don't want to do X you either leave or they have every right to fire you because that owner what's that business to go in a certain direction and they have every right to do that. Now the journalist that left on their own they did the right thing if they did not want to do X then by all means they shouldn't be forced to but the ones who didn't want to leave and who didn't want to do X should definitely have been fired. Those journalists turn out the owners those journalist are not the boss those journalist are just workers that can be replaced. It's good for a company to have workers who have a common goal in mind for the business that is why owners will look for workers who fall in line with the idea of the business. Tim I understand you're a journalist and you probably got a heart in this one but the owners are not wrong here but neither are the journalist that left the ones who tried to remain but did not follow orders they were in the wrong

Workers do not get to decide the future or direction of the company so when the new owners bought the site it doesn't matter what they should have known the company was what they choose to do with it is their right and their prerogative. Workers either do the job they're tasked with by the owner or they get replaced in the story. Now if the owners drive that business into the ground than that is on them but that's not for the workers to decide to try to save that company by all means give suggestions but when you were told to do something by the owner you do it or you get fired

you are right about the mix tape thing. this is more like an ice cream shop whose employees simply decided to start selling burgers instead of ice cream, while still advertising that they are an ice cream shop. then a new person buys it, and say "WTF why are you guys running a burger shop in here? this is an ice cream shop, get back to selling ice cream." and then the employees scream in unison "I dOn'T WanNNnnNAaaa!" then quitting over it.
